Wow! How long have I been waiting to use that phrase – “Death by a million little pricks.” Allow me a moment’s joy – ahhhhh, but were it only a million the 310 million strong American body politic would brush it aside, but it’s way more than a million little pricks. One can hardly swing a dead cat over their head without striking one of the little pricks bleating and moaning the miseries of it all . . . woe is them . . . .
I finally struck upon why progressives continue with their devil-may-care antics. They denigrate the opposition, call us “Tea baggers, racists” and the like. They claim the near 2 million strong DC Tea Party was 60K. They play chin music that anyone who disagrees is ignorant. They pretend they are deaf too when we screamed at the Congress not to pass Obamacare.
All their transgressions against the vocal and vast majorities are seemingly based upon the progressive inability to read and understand the Bell curve. For this demonstration, the top of the curve represents the sheer volume of people who have never before protested anything. You’ve seen a bell curve before, right? Looks like a “bell,” hence the name, or did Alexander Graham Bell think it up????
Clearly the curve represents that at the bottom there is always a cadre of the unhappy who will protest anything – Tuesday mornings for example. Like Marlon Brando answered when the was asked what he was rebelling against, “What ya got?” As the line moves to the right it begins to ascend vertically, gently at first. I would fairly estimate that gentle upward slope is political dissent in its normal state. The out-of-power party and its usual level of dissenting chatter. This is America so that’s not only normal but in fact as it should be.
