It's a sad day when you can't wear this in AMERICA
The P.C. police strike again. Five Live Oak High School students were sent home due to wearing t-shirts that showed the American flag on them during…Cinco de Mayo. Who did this upset? An assistance principle named Miguel Rodriguez.
The school administration is attempting to claim the boys wanted to ‘start a fight’ even though they were sitting around, eating their school lunch and talking among themselves.
The idiot, Miguel Rodriguez, claims he didn’t want any fights to break-out between Mexican-American students and the guys wearing the American flag t-shirts. Why would Mexican-Americans be upset by the American flag being worn in America in an American high school?
Here’s the kicker. More than 100 students were witnessed wearing the Mexican colors of red, white and green on their shirts and some had the Mexican flag painted on their faces. How many of these trouble-making students were sent home? ZERO!!!
I wonder if Miguel Rodriguez demanded that the school remove the American flag flying up on the flagpole that’s planted on American land?
I find it amazing that we have one group that was allowed to express their pride and first amendment rights and one group was demonized for the same thing. Land of the free, home of the politically correct.
Political correctness is what will be the downfall of America. We have to tip-toe around special interests groups due to the fear of being labeled racists or bigots. It’s time the majority spoke up and out against this blatant bullshit.
Martin Luther King wanted equal rights for everyone. Today, we have special rights for protected groups. Allowing these special rights to special groups creates special problems. The school violated one groups rights and protected the other groups rights.
Political correctness strikes again.
These students were being patriotic to their country and if the staff, or teachers do not like it, then they can move to Mexico and take all of the illegal aliens with them. Good Riddance!!

I agree. It’s time to end the political correctness and start being honest. Illegals and their numerous children are a burden to America and the American taxpayer. Illegal is Illegal. Common sense needs to be restored and our laws need to be enforced. If the Illegals don’t like it, jump back across the border and demand rights from the Mexican government.

Now–THIS makes my blood boil! These schools (and I found another article about another school who did the same thing: http://cbs5.com/education/american.flag.shirts.2.1677973.html ) are receiving state and federal aid–courtesy of AMERICAN TAXPAYERS and they feel they have the right to send AMERICAN STUDENTS home for wearing the AMERICAN flag?
They should be allowed to wear the AMERICAN flag any day of the year–regardless of what day is being celebrated by any other student!
We need to be calling/emailing/writing to the representatives of this state and demanding that these schools do not receive their state and federal aid for that day!

The Administrators should be fired.
The Administrators should appropriately reprimand the Mexican Students who left school.
Lawyers should sanction the District Board and Administration.
Putting cops in place doesn’t address the problem that the Administrators put their cultural “heritage” over the lawfulness of being a citizen of the United States.
We pay for these schools, for this education, for the teachers, for the administrators, and they should be admonished.

Good grief! What the heck is going on anymore? If this was one of my children, and they came home early because of the shirts, I would be on the phone calling the American Civil Liberties. I would sue the living daylights out of this school district and demand that Mr. Miguel Rodriguez be fired immediately. If you give an inch they will take a mile, no, ten miles.
This country is acting foolish. They refuse to enforce the laws and when someone does, ie; Arizona, they get labeled Racist. Well no more. This is the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. WE WILL CRUSH THE ILLEGALS AND THEN SEND THEM BACK TO WHAT EVER COUNTRY THEY CAME FROM.

What was the administrator thinking? May 5 isn’t a REAL AMERICAN’S holiday! No notice should be given to a foreign country’s celebrations. No face painting, no nothing, no nonsense. American Flag tee-shirts are okay on any day of the week,as long as they are tasteful & in reason(Confederate flags are okay also, it to is an American symbol. YES IT IS, I DON”T WANT TO HEAR ANYONE SAY DIFFERENT!!!!)
