Good news: White House fudging numbers on ObamaCare again

You know the Obama White House must have really fudged the numbers for the Associated Press to point out their lies. Nothing new here folks. Just more Obama lies about his health care plan. The Actuary of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services slaps down Obama’s claims….again!

The Associated Press reports:

WASHINGTON — When a government report found that President Barack Obama’s health overhaul would modestly raise the nation’s total health care tab, the White House responded with a statistic suggesting costs would go down. It turns out that may be fuzzy math.

Health reform director Nancy-Ann DeParle wrote on the White House blog last week that the same government report indicates spending per insured person will be more than $1,000 lower in 2019 because of the law — some 9 percent below previous projections.

“The act will make health care more affordable for Americans,” DeParle said.

But the head of the nonpartisan economic unit at Medicare that produced the original cost report says the White House number “does not provide a meaningful or accurate indication” of the effect of the health care law.

“The amounts quoted in the White House blog are not meaningful and cannot be used to calculate the change in health expenditures per insured person,” Richard Foster, Medicare’s chief actuary, told The Associated Press.

The Obama administration stands by its statistic.

Obama’s Pay Czar, Kenneth Feinberg, Received a six-figure Salary

What’s a little white lie between friends? The media reported that Obama’s Pay Czar wouldn’t accept compensation. However, Judical Watch used the Freedom of Information Act and requested documents. Low and behold, Feinberg is being paid a six-figure salary. So much for that pro bono work.

Judicial Watch reports:

Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, announced today that it has uncovered U.S. Treasury Department documents that reveal President Obama’s “Special Master for TARP Executive Compensation” Kenneth Feinberg received a $120,830 annual salary to establish executive compensation levels at companies bailed out by the federal government. These documents contradict multiple press reports that Feinberg would not be compensated for this work for the Treasury Department. Judicial Watch received the documents pursuant to its Freedom of Information Act request filed July 20, 2010.

When President Obama appointed Washington lawyer Kenneth Feinberg “Pay Czar” in 2009, the press reported that he would perform his duties pro bono. Dozens of mainstream media stories confirmed that Feinberg, founder and managing partner of the Washington, D.C., firm Feinberg Rozen LLP, would not receive a salary to set pay limits for more than two dozen executives at companies receiving government bailouts. For example, Reuters reported in August 2009, “Feinberg is receiving no compensation for his role.”

However, Judicial Watch has obtained the Treasury Department’s June 8, 2009, welcome letter to Feinberg, congratulating him for being selected “Special Master of Executive Compensation” and listing his annual salary at $120,830. Judicial Watch has also uncovered a “Notification of Personnel Action,” from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management dated June 8, 2009, also establishing Feinberg’s salary level at $120,830.

Judicial Watch repeatedly contacted Kenneth Feinberg at both his Washington, D.C., law firm and the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Judicial Watch has also contacted Treasury Press Secretary Mark Paustenbach. Neither Mr. Feinberg nor the Treasury Department has provided an explanation for the discrepancy.

“This is yet another reason why more of these Obama czars should go through the Senate confirmation process, rather than being simply installed into power by Obama,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “We shouldn’t have to pepper the Obama administration with FOIA requests to know what these czars are doing and how much they’re getting paid to do it. More information about Obama’s czars should be part of the public record and be transparent to the American people.

Boston Hospital Losing $175M…Plans To Fire 119

Expect to see more news like this in the coming months and years. We have three years of payments before ObamaCare is fully operational. The results are already coming in and the side effects are bad for our, and our nation’s, health.

Boston Medical Center said this afternoon that it expects to lose $175 million this year due to “dramatic changes” in the way it is reimbursed for taking care of Medicaid patients.

Great news, considering ObamaCare is going to add millions more into the overly broke Medicaid system.

The hospital said the losses are prompting it to reduce its workforce by 119 people, effective Oct. 1.

Here is the announcement:
Boston Medical Center announced today that it has made a reduction in force of 119 people, including 44 nurses and 30 management staff. Another 40 employees will see their hours reduced. The hospital has a total work force of almost 6,000 people, more than 1,500 of whom are nurses.

“The hospital is projected to lose $175 million this year due to dramatic changes in Medicaid reimbursements,” said Tom Traylor, BMC’s vice president of federal, state and local programs. “We have been talking to the staff about this new reality for well over a year, and have been working to assess and increase efficiency in every corner of the hospital. We have been consulting with outside experts to study the efficiency of delivery of patient care, and they found very little excess capacity particularly in terms of hospital staffing levels. This layoff is one necessary element of addressing the hospital’s financial situation.”

Remember folks. This is happening in Massachusetts and this system is what is the model for ObamaCare. Expect the same results.

Employees were notified on Friday, Sept.10. The layoffs are effective Oct. 1. Those notified include 30 members of management, 44 registered nurses, 4 LPNs and a variety of administrative positions.”

The union that represents many of the workers, 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, said the cuts will have an impact on a wide swath of services including nursing, patient access coordinators, dieticians and clinical engineers.

Veronica Turner, Executive Vice President of 1199SEIU and a former Boston Medical Center employee, said in a statement that Boston Medical Center is already among the most efficient in Massachusetts — a reference to the notice the hospital sent the union explaining that the layoffs were intended to make the hospital more efficient.

“Patient care access is suffering because the state has failed to provide fair reimbursement for care and its management is not effectively communicating with staff about a plan for the hospitals future,” the statement said.

N.J. town files lawsuit against imam behind controversial mosque near Ground Zero

I would call Iman Rauf a slumlord but then I would get labeled as being Islamophobic.

UNION CITY — A lawsuit filed by Union City charges that the landlord of two apartment buildings has repeatedly failed to address complaints by tenants and orders by the city on issues ranging from moldy bathrooms to fire hazards.

Landlord-tenant disputes are nothing new, even those with municipalities entering the fray. Except in this case, city officials say the landlord is Feisal Abdul Rauf, the imam behind the controversial proposal to develop an Islamic cultural center and mosque near Ground Zero.

The suit, filed today in state Superior Court in Jersey City, identifies Rauf as the sole officer of Sage Development LLC, a company based at his home address in North Bergen and listed as the owner of the two buildings. The suit also alleges that Sage’s corporate status was revoked by the state in March 2005, for its failure to file annual reports.

The buildings occupy the same lot at 226 Central Ave., one containing 32 apartments and the other 16. The larger building has been vacant since Feb. 8, 2008, when a fire broke out there, one year after the city says it issued 12 separate fire code violations that Rauf ignored.

Rather than addressing the violations after the fire, the city says Rauf boarded up the building, barring residents from their apartments. A spokesman for Mayor Brian Stack said he could not immediately say what had become of the displaced families.

I would like to suggest this ‘bridge-builder’ stop his construction and concentrate on building maintainance. Folks should be outraged because Iman Rauf slumlording is being paid for by U.S. taxpayers through subsidies.

“He’s a terrible landlord who’s unresponsive to the residents who live in his building,” said the spokesman, Mark Albiez. “City officials and inspectors have reached out to him to express the urgency in correcting problems in his buildings, and it’s unfortunate that it’s gotten to this point, but it’s our responsibility to insure that residents receive the care that is needed.”

U.S. Treasury: 120 Institutes are becoming TARP ‘Deadbeats’

This is why we should have let these banks fail. The government stole money from the taxpayers to bail these idiots out and now they are not paying their bailouts back. Can the taxpayers foreclose on these loans? This is what these assholes would do if it were one of us who couldn’t make the loan payments. No more bailouts for anyone.

The Washington Post reports:

Big Wall Street firms have the most bruised public reputations, but it’s a collection of smaller banks that continues to plague the Treasury Department’s bank bailout program.

The latest report from the agency shows that more than 120 institutions – nearly all of them small banks – have missed their scheduled quarterly dividend payments, which is more than a sixth of the banks that received federal aid during the financial crisis.

In addition, five banks that received capital injections from the $700 billion Troubled Assets Relief Program have failed altogether, making it highly unlikely that taxpayers will recover the nearly $3 billion poured into those institutions.

The Treasury report showed that at the end of August, a record six banks each missed six dividend payments. Saigon National Bank in Southern California has missed seven.

The rising number of “deadbeat” banks, as they are known, has prompted calls for Treasury officials to take action to protect taxpayers’ investment.

In remarks to the National Restaurant Association in Washington, D.C., on Monday, first lady Michelle Obama said American restaurants should offer and market more healthy options to children on menus and make it easier for parents to select the best meal for their child.

She cited a “local survey” that showed most children’s menus have choices such as macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers, hamburgers and cheeseburgers.

“That’s why I want to challenge every restaurant to offer healthy menu options and then provide them up front so that parents don’t have to hunt around and read the small print to find an appropriately sized portion that doesn’t contain levels – high levels of fat, salt and sugar,” Michelle Obama said.

“These choices have to be easy to make and they have to give parents the confidence to know that they can go into any restaurant in this country and choose a genuinely healthy meal for their kids,” she said.

The first lady said restaurants should offer lower-fat fare and that high-calorie and fatty items such French fries might require a special order.

With an ass and hips like that, should Michelle be giving food advice?

Iman Rauf’s Partner, Faiz Khan, is a 9/11 Truther

A founding member of an organization run by Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, the driving force behind the planned mosque near Ground Zero, claims that the 9/11 attacks were an “inside job” and that Muslims have been made scapegoats, The Post has learned.

Faiz Khan — who has preached at least twice at the former Burlington Coat Factory building, the site of the proposed mosque — was for years Rauf’s partner in the American Society for the Advancement of Muslims, which is dedicated to promoting a better understanding of Islam.

Khan also serves on the advisory board of Muslims for 9/11 Truth and is a founder of the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance for 9/11 Truth, known as MUJCA.

On MUJCA’s Web site, Khan wrote that “the inescapable fact [is] that 9/11 was an inside job.”

“The prime factor for the success of the criminal mission known as 9/11 did not come from the quarter known as ‘militant Islam,’ although the phenomenon known as ‘militant Islamic networks’ may have played a partial role, or even a less than partial role — perhaps the role of patsy and scapegoat,” he wrote in documents uncovered by the Investigative Project on Terrorism.

Dr. Donald Berwick is backtracking on his Rationing beliefs

Dr. Rationing, Donld Berwick, is now backtracking on his rationed health care beliefs. It is due to Obama submitting him for Senate confirmation, but only after a firestorm of criticism from Democrats and Republicans. Dr. Berwick was appointed to head the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services by Obama in via a recess appointment.

Now that he will have to answer questions from the Senate, Berwick wants to claim he is against health care rationing. Very convenient, wouldn’t you say?

The nation’s health-care system cannot be transformed by rationing medical care, President Obama‘s new Medicare chief said Monday in his first major speech.

Donald Berwick’s appointment this summer without Senate confirmation was contentious because some Republicans accused him of being willing to deny care to save on costs. Since then, the administration has kept Berwick out of the spotlight, turning the otherwise well-known medical innovation expert into something of a mystery man in Washington.

Berwick broke his silence Monday, telling an audience of health insurance industry representatives that pushing back against unsustainable costs cannot and should not involve “withholding from us, or our neighbors, any care that helps” or “harming a hair on any patient’s head.”

He also said he does not think federal bureaucrats have all the answers when it comes to remaking the system. “A massive top-down national project is not the way to do this,” he told a conference held by America’s Health Insurance Plans, the industry lobbying group.

Berwick, 64, who was a pediatrician and Harvard professor, has long advocated “patient-centered care,” or the coordination of services to provide better quality and avoid duplication and waste.

Republicans have seized on previous comments he has made, such as this one from an interview last year: “The decision is not whether or not we will ration care – the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open. And right now, we are doing it blindly.” They say that raises questions about what Berwick really thinks of rationing.

Redistribution of wealth is the goal folks. This on top of rationing so they can keep more of our money to spread the wealth among their pals. Don’t be fooled by Obama and his communist/socialist/marxist/progressive thugs.

Remember, they are cutting $500 billion from Medicare to ‘pay’ for ObamaCare. Take $500 billion from any program and rationing will happen. Health care rationing has already started. Several cancer-treating drugs have been dropped due to their costs.
