I laughed when I read this article. Giving Obama an award for doing nothing is becoming the norm. Like his Nobel Peace Prize, Obama has done nothing to be giving an award…especially for transparency.
The Hill reports:
The White House announced Wednesday it has postponed a ceremony for President Obama to accept transparency award from a government watchdog group.
Guess this ‘watchdog’ is blind.
The event was scrubbed due to scheduling changes, according to a White House pool report, and is supposed to be rescheduled.
Obama was scheduled to accept an award from the Freedom of Information Day Conference recognizing, “his deep commitment to an open and transparent government—of, by, and for the people,” according to press guidance.
Ouch. That made me choke.
The right-leaning Drudge Report played up the award ceremony Wednesday on its site under the headline, “All WH events Wednesday ‘closed press’ — except for ceremony praising Obama’s ‘commitment to transparent government’…”
A pool spray was scheduled to cover the top of the event.
This is hilarious. The award ceremony comes on the heels of a report, by the Washington Post and Associated Press, that informed readers all the talk from Obama about transparency was lip service.
As soon as Obama stepped foot into the Oval Office, he issued an executive order to seal his records. Even the Huffington Post, Obama’s recommended blog, pointed out this violation of transparency. Then we have to remember Obama’s promise to hold his health care debate on C-SPAN that never happened. Recently, the Obama regime refused to release information about their meetings with special interest groups during the health care debate. Transparency?
I must also point to several occasions that the Obama administration met with lobbyist outside of the White House to duck disclosure laws. The New York Times reported Team Obama meeting with lobbyists at a coffee-house located across the street from the White House. Transparency?
Recently, Obama’s HUD Dept. asked rental policy groups to sign confidentiality agreements so they couldn’t speak about these meetings. This transparency has exposed Obama’s lie about not working with lobbyist and how lobbyist wouldn’t have any influence inside his administration…which is full of ex-lobbyists. Transparency?
Even the White House Press Corp complained about being shut out from covering meetings. Then there is the issue of Obama blocking the investigation of Gerald Walpin, the Inspector General who was fired for investigating Obama’s buddy, Kevin Johnson. Transparency?
How about the Supreme Court cracking down on Obama’s Freedom of Information Act exemptions? Many don’t know this fact, but Obama has used more FOIA exemptions in 2 years than Bush did in 8. Transparency?
How about the stealth stealth Saudi arms deal that the Obama regime orchestrated? Even Democrats Anthony Weiner (D-NY) pointed out this sneaky deal. Transparency?
Want more?
How about the Congressional Oversight Panelstating that Obama’s Treasury Department escaped transparency by using outside contractors to execute the Wall Street bailouts? Transparency?
I could go on and own and make this a 8,000 word article, but I think most who do not drink the Obama brand of Kool-Aid, know the truth about Obama’s transparency.
LOL whatever the group giving him the award is on…I want some!
The Obamas are full of hypocrisy. Obama accepting a transparency award is the same as Michelle telling Americans what not to eat while she and Obama chows down on cheeseburgers, fries and a milkshake.
The hypocrisy issue could be another long article. We better hope those who voted this community agitator into office see the light in 2012. We can’t afford another 4 years of Obama.
