As we all have come to learn, if Obama’s mouth is moving you can bet he is lying (ask Joe Wilson). Obama does a lot of talking but never offers any real plan of his own. His speech last night was the same old tired speech he has given since he started his 2008 presidential run: It’s not my fault…blame Bush…tax the rich so I can keep spending…blah…blah…blah.
Let’s look at some of Obama’s lies from last night…
“For the last decade, we’ve spent more money than we take in. In the year 2000, the government had a budget surplus. But instead of using it to pay off our debt, the money was spent on trillions of dollars in new tax cuts, while two wars and an expensive prescription drug program were simply added to our nation’s credit card.”
Got to love Obama’s continued “blame Bush” strategy. He acts as if his record-setting spending and deficits have no blame for the mess we’re in. For someone who graduated from Harvard (where’s the transcript), one would think Obama would know that tax cuts don’t add to the deficits. Spending more than you bring in does that.
Obama ignore the FACT that these Bush tax cuts, you know..the ones he signed into law in 2010, created more revenue for the government. Besides, how dare Americans want to keep more of THEIR money in THEIR pockets instead of the governments hands.
As for the two wars comment. Does Obama know that these wars are still ongoing and he actually increased the costs of the Afghanistan War with his troop surge? Obama also failed to mention that he has us involved in “kinetic military actions” in Libya, Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia? Guess his wars are free of charge?
On the “expensive prescription drug program” comment, does Obama not remember ramming through his ObamaCare plan that costs way more than he admits? Does he believe adding 30+ million people into the health care system will be cost free? Not to mention the deals worked out between Obama, the Democrats and Big PhRMA which will cost not only seniors, but all Americans more money on prescription drugs.
Here’s another one I laughed at:
“As a result, the deficit was on track to top $1 trillion the year I took office. To make matters worse, the recession meant that there was less money coming in, and it required us to spend even more – on tax cuts for middle-class families; on unemployment insurance; on aid to states so we could prevent more teachers and firefighters and police officers from being laid off. These emergency steps also added to the deficit.“
Obama hates facts. The deficit in 2008 was $459 billion. It was half that in 2007. In 2009, the deficit was tripled to $1.4 trillion. In 2010, Obama added another $1 trillion plus dollars to the deficit. the Democrats haven’t passed a budget in over 800 + days yet Obama continues to spend.
Again, Obama talks about tax cuts as if the government is giving taxpayers money out of the Treasury. A tax cut is when the government takes less of YOUR money. I also love how the only “jobs” Obama seems to care about are union jobs for teachers, firefighters and cops.
Another of my favorite quotes was “I won’t bore you with the details of every plan or proposal.” Obama has no plan to cut the deficit and has punted on every opportunity to lead. He wants his weak-minded followers to believe he is leading and working hard. Just ignore the facts that he passed off responsibility to his deficit commission, which he ignored, and to Joe Biden.
Obama did submit his 2012 budget, which was shot down by the Democratically controlled Senate on a 97 to 0 vote. The CBO scoring of Obama’s 2012 budget proved Obama isn’t serious about cutting the deficit. The CBO projected Obama’s budget to grow the national debt to $20.8 TRILLION by 2021. So much for that infamous promise to cut the deficit by half.
Then there was this goodie: “ Let’s make modest adjustments so that Medicare is still there for future generations.”
Medicare is already in the red. Then Obama comes into office and cuts $500 billion out of the system to fund his health care takeover plan. If you add 30 + million and take $500 billion out of a broke system, what do you think the results are going to be?
ObamaCare will cause Medicare to be insolvent much more faster.
This affects seniors but Obama wants America to believe it is Republicans who want to throw granny off the cliff. This is Obama’s form of “modesty.”

Obama said “A significant number of Republicans of Congress are insisting on a different approach. A cuts-only approach. An approach that doesn’t ask the wealthiest Americans or biggest corporations to contribute anything at all.”
Why did Obama fail to mention that Senate majority leader, Harry Reid (D-NV) has a plan that also calls only for cuts? It’s because Obama is the obstacle. He wants higher taxes so he can continue his record spending spree. Everyone has a plan but Obama.
These wealthiest Americans and corporations pay nothing at all according to Obama, who is prone to hire tax cheats to high positions. These individuals, the wealthiest, pay the most taxes while on the other hand we have 47% who pay no federal income taxes yet benefit from programs such as Medicare, Medicaid and Food Stamps. Maybe its time to ask these Americans to pay their fair share and contribute to the well-being of all Mr. President.
The quote that really made me laugh was this one…
“We all want a government that lives within its means.”
This coming from a guy who adds over $1 trillion dollars to the deficit each year he’s been in office. As I pointed out above, Obama’s 2012 budget pushes the national debt to $20.8 TRILLION. The national debt was a little over $10 trillion when he took office. If his budget would have passed, he actually doubles the deficit.
Anyway, as most know, Obama loves to pass the blame and stretch the truth. I could continue but this would end up being a 25,000 word dixsertation and I’m not getting paid to point out Obama’s lies.
