So big mouth Dingy Reid took to the Senate floor, on more than one occasion, to make the claim that Romney has paid zero in taxes over the past two decade. Romney’s 2011 tax returns prove Harry Reid a liar and now people are calling for Reid to release his:
Should Sen. Democratic leader Harry Reid follow in the footsteps of GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney by releasing his 2011 tax return?
Dave Buell, chairman of the Washoe Country Republican party in Mr. Reid’s political backyard of Nevada, certainly thinks so.
“Senator, make our day and release your 2011 tax return,” he said in an email blast Friday evening.
Citing an anonymous source, Mr. Reid has repeatedly claimed in recent weeks that Mr. Romney “didn’t pay taxes for 10 years.”
Mr. Romney countered that over the past ten years he never paid less than 13 percent of his taxable income and that “Harry Reid’s charge is totally false.”
So Harry, where are your tax returns. I’m sure the American taxpayers would like to know how someone who makes $174,000 a year ends up being a multi-millionaire. Show you taxes Harry!
Think lying about what’s really happening has anything to do with it?
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Americans’ distrust in the media hit a new high this year, with 60% saying they have little or no trust in the mass media to report the news fully, accurately, and fairly. Distrust is up from the past few years, when Americans were already more negative about the media than they had been in years prior to 2004.
Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney was far more generous to charities than President Barack Obama or Vice President Joe Biden last year, both in dollar terms and as a percentage of income, tax return data Romney’s campaign released Friday indicate.
Romney and his wife, Ann, gave 29.4 percent of their income to charity in 2011, donating $4,020,772 out of the $13,696,951 they took in.
Obama and first lady Michelle Obama gave 21.8 percent of their income to charitable organizations last year, donating $172,130 out of the $789,674 they made.
Biden and his wife, Jill, gave 1.5 percent of their income away in 2011, with charitable donations totaling $5,540 out of $379,035.
Republicans have mocked Obama and especially Biden for being unusually tight-fisted when it comes to making charitable gifts.
When the Obama campaign released past tax returns for Biden in 2008, it was revealed that the Bidens donated just $3,690 to charity over 10 years — an average of $369 a year.
