Obama campaign senior adviser David Axelrod hit at Mitt Romney over his tax returns and work at Bain Capital on Sunday and dismissed comparisons between the government’s investment in failed solar firm Solyndra and bankruptcies at Bain-backed companies.

“Leverage buyouts of the sort that Governor Romney profited off of are quite different,” said Axelrod on NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday.

Umm, Bain risked their own money, not the taxpayer’s money, like Obama did with Solyndra. Doesn’t Axelrod know that Bain gave three times more campaign cash to the DNC than the RNC?

“Where you buy a company, load it down with debt, strip it down, let it go bankrupt and then make money off of fees on the bankruptcy. That’s quite different. That’s a different approach.”

That’s what Obama is doing with the US. He’s loaded it down with record debt, he is stripping away American fundamentals and hopes to bankrupt us all to make his “fundamental transformation.” Obama and his campaign bundlers and donors are making hundreds of billions. Ask George Kaiser, Steve Westly and Steven Spinner.

…Romney “has a great track record of creating wealth for himself and his partners, and he’s done it by closing 1,000 plants and stores and offices around the country,” alleged Axelrod. “He’s done it by outsourcing jobs. He’s done it by profiting by loading companies down with debt and then putting them into bankruptcy, on which he and his partners made hundreds of millions of dollars.”

Axelrod said that Romney’s emphasis was on “creating profit for himself and his partners and his investors, not creating jobs.”

Does Axelrod really want to talk about outsourcing as Jeff Immelt, CEO of GE, sits on Obama’s economic and jobs council?

The supposed ‘consensus’ on man-made global warming is facing an inconvenient challenge after the release of new temperature data showing the planet has not warmed for the past 15 years.

The figures suggest that we could even be heading for a mini ice age to rival the 70-year temperature drop that saw frost fairs held on the Thames in the 17th Century.

Based on readings from more than 30,000 measuring stations, the data was issued last week without fanfare by the Met Office and the University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit. It confirms that the rising trend in world temperatures ended in 1997.

Meanwhile, leading climate scientists yesterday told The Mail on Sunday that, after emitting unusually high levels of energy throughout the 20th Century, the sun is now heading towards a ‘grand minimum’ in its output, threatening cold summers, bitter winters and a shortening of the season available for growing food.

Solar output goes through 11-year cycles, with high numbers of sunspots seen at their peak.

We are now at what should be the peak of what scientists call ‘Cycle 24’ – which is why last week’s solar storm resulted in sightings of the aurora borealis further south than usual. But sunspot numbers are running at less than half those seen during cycle peaks in the 20th Century.

Analysis by experts at NASA and the University of Arizona – derived from magnetic-field measurements 120,000 miles beneath the sun’s surface – suggest that Cycle 25, whose peak is due in 2022, will be a great deal weaker still.

According to a paper issued last week by the Met Office, there is a  92 per cent chance that both Cycle 25 and those taking place in the following decades will be as weak as, or weaker than, the ‘Dalton minimum’ of 1790 to 1830. In this period, named after the meteorologist John Dalton, average temperatures in parts of Europe fell by 2C.

However, it is also possible that the new solar energy slump could be as deep as the ‘Maunder minimum’ (after astronomer Edward Maunder), between 1645 and 1715 in the coldest part of the ‘Little Ice Age’ when, as well as the Thames frost fairs, the canals of Holland froze solid.

Amonix Inc. is tied to Steve Westly, an Obama bundler who is also tied to Solyndra and Tesla Motors, which received over $1 billion ($535 million/$465 million) in taxpayer-backed guaranteed loans. Westly was also considered for a position to be Obama’s Energy Secretary. Instead, Obama made him an “energy adviser.” If you add up all the money Obama has given Westly and other bundlers, its in the billions.

Obama For Bundlers, Bundlers For Obama. That’s been the pattern and I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.

LAS VEGAS – President Obama on Friday tried to reassure unemployed Nevada workers that help is on the way.

“Nevada, I know we’ve been through tough times, and I can’t promise you the difficult days are all behind us,” the president said. “I can’t promise you there won’t be more times to come. But, I can promise you this. We are headed in the right direction. We are moving forward. We’re not going to move backwards.”

The president moved to policy issues, using a Nevada business as an example of job creation. “A solar power company called Amonix received a roughly $6 million tax credit for a new facility they’re building in the Las Vegas area,” President Obama said.

And today, the Las Vegas Sun reports that Amonix, Inc., a manufacturer of solar panels that received $5.9 million from the Porkulus, will cut two-thirds of its workforce, about 200 employees, only seven months after opening a factory in Nevada.

This coming from the race hustling/victim vending adulterous “reverend” who wants to put his hands on Obama’s nuts to cut them off…

The career path of former U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke can be charted through an ascending string of jobs from Arizona’s Supreme Court to the U.S. Senate, White House, Department of Homeland Security and Justice Department.

It is a resume that spans more than two decades in three branches of government.

Then, suddenly, it nose-dives on Aug. 30, 2011, when Burke resigned as U.S. attorney amid a scandal over a gun-smuggling case known as Operation Fast and Furious.

Since that day, the gregarious public servant has gone silent, and nearly invisible, except that his name appears prominently in Justice Department documents, congressional hearings and news reports.

Burke’s political downfall may have been shocking, but an Arizona Republic analysis of his career suggests that the cause — firearm politics — has been a pet theme through most of his 23 years in government.

The end came after federal records and testimony revealed that Burke last year pressed colleagues and superiors to deny that the Justice Department knowingly allowed guns to be smuggled into Mexico under his watch, and that two of those weapons wound up at the murder scene of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.

In e-mail exchanges with DOJ officials, Burke incorrectly described allegations about Fast and Furious by Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, as “categorically false.” He also reviled congressional investigators as “stooges” for gun-rights zealots.

Burke finally quit his post after testifying in secret to congressional investigators about the case.

This gun trafficking scheme was to be used to push for more stringent gun control laws. Obama, Holder, Napolitano and Clinton all have used the mythical “90% of guns used in Mexico are from the US” claim.

…But there are critics, especially among staunch Second Amendment advocates, who paint Burke as a liberal apparatchik who was willing to let criminals move weapons to Mexican cartels if it would help justify new firearms restrictions.

“It’s no coincidence that Dennis Burke, a longtime anti-gun policy person, was made U.S. Attorney in mid-2009 … the same month (sic) that Fast and Furious begins,” said Mike Vanderboegh, a gun-rights blogger. “They picked precisely the right guy to run a clandestine program.” (The operation began a month after Burke’s appointment was confirmed.)

Curiously, the supporters and detractors agree on one point: They say Burke became a scapegoat to protect higher officials in the Justice Department or White House. Dave Workman, a gun-rights blogger, described Burke as “the chief sacrificial lamb.”

Sen. Grassley, in an October statement, said: “Mr. Burke is to be commended, to some extent, for being the only person to resign and take responsibility for the failed operation. Of course, I do not believe he should feel obligated to be the only fall guy.”

Phoenix attorney Andy Gordon, a close friend for nearly two decades, said Burke may be loyal to a fault, protecting higher-ups in the Justice Department. “DOJ threw him under the bus. That’s my view,” Gordon said.

Another friend, attorney Tim Nelson, said: “I don’t know the workings of the Obama administration, whether they were looking for a fall guy or what. But it certainly looks that way.”

Imagine the US without Obama, Reid and Pelosi. The record deficits, record debt and high unemployment would disappear.

For all you fact-absent Liberals, go look at what has happened since 2007. The Financial and Housing crisis happened 15 months after Dodd and Frank took their Chairmanships over the Senate Banking and House Financial committees. The deficits tripled and national debt is up by $6 trillion (not including the last two years of Bush’s presidency when Dems controlled the House and Senate…add another $2 trillion). Unemployment doubled (4.6% in Jan. of ’06 to 33 months of 9% plus), poverty increased, more people are on food stamps and we have a credit downgrade.

Americans sure do miss that 2006 days.

Since we see how the left is going to make this year’s elections about race, I thought it would be nice to put up real history to combat the revisionist history taught in schools by liberal teachers.

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch, the organization that investigates and fights government corruption, announced today that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit on January 3, 2012, against the Obama Department of Justice (DOJ) and U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to obtain documents pertaining to accusations of fraud against the nation’s five largest mortgage companies and the creation of “federal accounts” to settle probes into faulty mortgage practices (Judicial Watch v. HUD and DOJ (No. 1:12-cv-0002)). The Obama administration has reportedly been engaged in settlement negotiations behind closed doors with mortgage companies that would result in at least $20 billion in payments from the nation’s major banks.

Pursuant to a Judicial Watch FOIA request filed with the DOJ and HUD on May 17, 2011, Judicial Watch seeks the following records:

• A set of government audits used to support allegations that the nation’s five largest mortgage companies of defrauding taxpayers in the handling of foreclosures on homes purchased with government-backed loans.

• A term sheet which outlined the Obama administration’s settlement offer to the mortgage companies accused of fraud. The terms described on this document allegedly included the creation of a federal account funded by the nation’s largest mortgage firms to help distressed borrowers avoid foreclosure and settle state and federal probes into alleged faulty mortgages practices.

The DOJ notified Judicial Watch by letter that the agency received the FOIA request on May 27, 2011. Under the law, a response from the DOJ was due within twenty working days, or by June 24, 2011. On September 22, 2011, the DOJ reported to Judicial Watch that it had located nine documents totaling 346 pages responsive to the FOIA request, but had referred the documents to HUD for processing and direct response.

A similar FOIA request was filed with HUD, also on May 17, 2011. According to a letter from HUD, the request had been received on May 18, 2011, which means that the response was due by June 16, 2011. On September 13, 2011, HUD indicated in a letter to Judicial Watch that under instruction from the DOJ “the records responsive to your request are being withheld in full…”

As Judicial Watch noted in its FOIA requests, in his “exclusive” May 16, 2011, article detailing the settlement negotiations with mortgage lenders, Huffington Post reporter Shahien Nasiripour referred specifically to the audits and the term sheet at issue in Judicial Watch’s FOIA lawsuit. According to the article, four federal agents briefed Nasiripour on the “set of confidential audits,” while the confidential term sheet “was reviewed” by the Huffington Post.

In addition to conducting behind-the-scenes negotiations with the mortgage lending industry, the Obama administration is also reportedly pressuring state attorneys general to close down their investigations and sign off on the deal. Judicial Watchpreviously obtained documents calling into question the veracity of testimony by Elizabeth Warren, a then-Obama administration official, about the involvement of the new Consumer Production Financial Bureau in these negotiations.

NOTE: It was recently reported that Attorney General Eric Holder and his Assistant Attorney General, Lanny Breuer are deeply tied to the banks who made these alleged fraudulent mortgages.

Avoid doing the tough job. Appoint a commission to make the tough decisions. Then avoid what the commission recommends. He did this with his deficit commission and is doing it present with his jobs council. It’s all for political reasons.

Bloomberg reports:

President Barack Obama “walked away” from his bipartisan U.S. deficit-cutting commission’s plan “because he knew he’d be torn to bits,” said former Republican Senator Alan Simpson, who was co-chairman of the panel.

Obama is “terrified” of the deficit issue, Simpson said in an interview on Bloomberg Television’s “Political Capital with Al Hunt,” airing this weekend. “He didn’t deal with it” in his annual State of the Union address to Congress on Jan. 24.

Jamie Smith, a White House spokeswoman, declined to comment.

…A budgetary time bomb is set to go off at the end of this year when Bush-era tax cuts will expire, slashing Americans’ paychecks. At the same time, $1 trillion in automatic cuts in government spending will begin taking effect in January.

The spending reductions were designed to be so draconian that they would force a budget-cutting “supercommittee” to agree on a plan for reducing the government’s trillion-dollar deficits. Like a succession of budget-reducing groups before it, the panel deadlocked last year over proposed tax increases and cuts to politically sensitive programs such as Medicare.
