These are the goons Obama loves and surrounds himself with. These are the goons that Obama is paying back with his policies as thanks for getting him elected. Need more proof that Unions love communism?

TheBlaze.com reports:

Those who doubt the connection between the communist party and the unions need only to read accounts of a recent awards ceremony to see how both groups view each other.

On Sunday, December 5, the Communist Party USA gave awards to a pair of labor leaders and a former state legislator and assistant attorney general.* Among the recipients was Connecticut AFL-CIO head John Olsen, who not only gladly accepted the award, but garnered “loud applause” when he said he stands with CPUSA.

CPUSA’s webzine People’s World reports Olsen was given the award at the Voices for Jobs, Equality & Peace – People’s World Amistad Awards Concert celebrating the 90th anniversary of the CPUSA.

“James Hillhouse High School auditorium was filled with the fabulous jazz sounds of Jeff Fuller & Friends, labor songs by Bill Collins of the Rabble Rousers, and poetry by Baub Bidon and Ken Brown,” the article describes the event. But besides offering a mental picture, it also gives a glimpse of Olsen’s acceptance speech, in which he says he will stand with the Communist Party:

Anyone who stands with me for workers’ rights, I stand with them,” said John Olsen to loud applause as he acknowledged the Communist Party and took a strong stand against fear mongering and baiting, including the anti-socialist baiting of President Barack Obama.

The article goes on to praise the union for its work, and explains how important the union is in fighting for CPUSA causes:

The AFL CIO and local unions are now developing their legislative agendas. For the first time in 22 years, a Democratic governor was elected in Connecticut. It is widely recognized that union members made the difference in voter turnout.

However, especially with the state budget crisis, grass roots organizing will be needed to forestall cuts and layoffs and to demand expanded revenues by taxing the very rich.

Olsen’s bio confirms he is currently a member of the Democratic National Committee and has served in numerous leadership roles for the Connecticut state Democratic Party including chairman.

Also of note, he served as a superdelegate at the 2008 Democratic convention, where he supported Hillary Clinton. And while in the video above it appears he has switched his allegiance to Barack Obama, now it appears he’s also willing to support the Communist Party.

Another communist closely associated with Obama? How many times have we seen this? Cough…Van Jones.

The ceremony was held at James Hillhouse Public High School in Connecticut. Not surprisingly, members of the CPUSA’s youth organization the Young Communist League attended and even welcomed attendees to the event.

“It was politically and musically awesome!” Peoples World quoted one commenter as saying. “The food was excellent as well!”

Some on the left still continue to turn a blind-eye to the fact that their Democratic Party has been taken over by the far-left progressive movement with strong ties to communism, socialism and Marxism.

Cliff Kincaid reports, via AIM.org:

Various communist and socialist groups were photographed and filmed during the October 2 “One Nation Working Together” rally in Washington, D.C. But the real controversy could be found in the fact that the Communist Party USA, a group that served as a subversive pawn of Moscow for decades, was officially invited to be part of it.

The CPUSA was an official “endorsing organization” and was given space to set up a literature table by the rally organizers. Indeed, a two-page official list of “One Nation March” organizations shows that it was given a highly coveted “reserved space.”

Paul Kengor, author of the new blockbuster book, Dupes, called this fact remarkable. He commented, “It’s remarkable because historically, communist involvement at these rallies has been meticulously concealed, hidden from progressives, with the communists using the progressives as props — as dupes. That the two sides…happily accepted one another, proudly uniting, shows how far to the left progressives have moved, not to mention their unflagging confidence under the ascendancy of Obama-Pelosi-Reid.”

The officially-sanctioned groups also included the AFL-CIO and several left-wing labor unions; United for Peace and Justice, founded by veteran Marxist activist Leslie Cagan; Code Pink; the ANSWER Coalition, a front of the Party for Socialism and Liberation; the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC); the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism; Green for All, the group once associated with former White House official Van Jones; Democratic Socialists of America, which helped give Barack Obama his start in Illinois state politics; and the NAACP.

The progressives in the AFL-CIO and other unions which sponsored the October 2 rally in the nation’s capital were excused by the major media for giving special status to a political party that has always elevated the interests of world revolution ahead of the United States. The CPUSA, when it was directly funded by Moscow, was viewed by the FBI and the CIA as a subversive force representing a foreign ideology and America’s destruction. The CPUSA announced objective was a “Soviet America.” That is why the CPUSA and its agents, many of them secret members such as “historian” Howard Zinn, Obama mentor Frank Marshall Davis, singer Paul Robeson and labor leader Harry Bridges, were under FBI surveillance and the subject of extensive files about their activities and associates.

Obama’s grandfather, Stanley Dunham, who picked Davis as his grandson’s mentor, also had an FBI file. But that has turned up missing.

The CPUSA was so extreme during its heyday that it not only defended the mass murderer Stalin but the Hitler-Stalin Pact. The group also supplied Soviet espionage agents in the U.S. Government. Nobody can claim ignorance about the CPUSA at this late date in its history. But top CPUSA officials Jarvis Tyner and Sam Webb were there at the “One Nation Working Together” rally.

Interestingly, an on-line publication that noted the involvement of Tyner and his colleagues was The Root, which is published by The Washington Post. Cord Jefferson, a staff writer for The Root, quoted Tyner as saying, “This is the real deal here. We don’t agree with Obama on everything, but the future of our country is associated with moving the country away from the last 30 years, and he’s part of that. He said the people ought to get involved and make the change that they want, and I think that’s a good thing for the country.”

In terms of the size of the rally, Jefferson acknowledged, “Composed of labor union members, teachers, gay activists and others, the excited crowd was noticeably smaller than the one that overtook the National Mall during Restoring Honor.”

Debating Obama’s Marxism

The CPUSA spin-off, the Committees of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism (CCDS), took a different tack on Obama. Former Obama associate Carl Davidson, once a top official in the SDS, was helping run the CCDS literature table, explaining why he thinks Obama is not a socialist. “Obama is a Keynesian liberal,” he told me, “and not a very good one.” By that he meant that Obama prefers to use federal government monetary resources to influence but not control outright the economy. He refused to be interviewed on camera, saying conservatives misquote him.

When I commented to Davidson that there must have been a dozen different socialist groups at the event, he laughed and said I had underestimated the number.

Some of these are clearly more important than others. Two of the most important these days are the Workers World Party (WWP) and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. Some members of the former left to form the latter. They operate front organizations such as ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) and the International Action Center.

These groups supplied some of their representatives to meet with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the Warwick Hotel in New York City on September 21, while he was in town speaking to the United Nations.

Left-wing press reports say that among the individuals and organizations in attendance at this event were Cynthia McKinney, a former Democratic member of Congress from Georgia and the Green Party’s presidential candidate in 2008; poet and activist Amiri Baraka; Brian Becker of ANSWER; MOVE Minister of Information Ramona Africa; International Action Center co-director Sara Flounders; Ardeshir and Eleanor Ommani, co-founders of the American-Iranian Friendship Committee; former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark; Million Worker March Movement organizer Brenda Stokely; Shafeah M’balia of Black Workers for Justice; Phil Wilayto of Virginia Defenders for Freedom, Justice and Equality; Larry Holmes of Bail Out the People Movement; Don DeBar of WBAIx.org; Ryme Katkhouda of the People’s Media Center; Michael McPhearson of United for Peace and Justice; and Reverend Graylan Hagler.

Michael McPhearson was the “peace organizer” of the “One Nation Working Together” October 2 march and his “peace contingent” assembled near 14th Street and Constitution Ave., where Larry Holmes riled up the crowd at a mini-rally by denouncing recent FBI raids on so-called “peace” and “anti-war” groups.

While Holmes remains with the WWP, Brian Becker left to join the Party for Socialism and Liberation, a favorite of the Kremlin’s propaganda arm, Russia Today television.

The Workers World Party had been investigated by the House Internal Security Committee for its support of the North Korean regime and Arab terrorist groups. But the House Committee was disbanded by liberals in Congress.

In total, there were reportedly “100 leaders and representatives of anti-war, labor, alternative media and Iranian and Palestinian solidarity organizations” at the event with Ahmadinejad. Anti-Israel activists were clearly visible at the October 2 rally, with McPhearson expressing the predominant view that U.S. military aid to Israel should be immediately ended.

The reason Progressives defend communists and terrorist is because they, like communist and terrorist, believe America, and all it stands for, is bad. Progressives also have the same desires, as communists and terrorist, and want to control the masses with fears and lies. It’s in Progressives’ history.

Accuracy in Media reports:

As incredible as it may seem, the giant labor federation, the AFL-CIO, used to be run by a staunch anti-communist. George Meany had his disagreements with conservatives on domestic issues but he mostly agreed with them on foreign policy. Indeed, Meany was so anti-communist that he was dubbed a “right-winger” by liberals in the media. He criticized détente with the Soviet Union. He didn’t like communists and refused to allow them into his coalitions.

All of this changed over time. When the AFL-CIO staged a “Solidarity Day” rally in 1981, in order to protest President Ronald Reagan’s domestic policies, then-AFL-CIO President Lane Kirkland refused to tell communists they were not welcome.

When John Sweeney, a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, became president of the AFL-CIO, the communists and their fellow travelers were officially welcomed in. He hired veterans of the Venceremos Brigades such as Karen Nussbaum and Karen Ackerman. These were the groups of radical young people who had gone to Communist Cuba for indoctrination sessions back in the 1970s. Some went for training in guerrilla warfare. The trips were arranged by Bernardine Dohrn of the terrorist Weather Underground.

As we noted in a recent column, Nussbaum, executive director of Working America, a community affiliate of the AFL-CIO, is in charge of getting the unemployed to the ballot box on November 2 in order to prevent a conservative takeover of the U.S. Congress. Nussbaum, who served under Sweeney at the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), has refused to talk about her time in Cuba and the media won’t ask her any questions about it.

Ackerman, AFL-CIO political director since 2003, is also close-mouthed about her Cuba trip.

In this day and age, with the liberal media so willing to act as megaphones for the Obama Administration and left-wing labor leaders, it is not “news” that Ackerman, in charge of overall strategy and the spending of millions of dollars on behalf of liberal candidates, once went to Cuba for indoctrination. Nor is it “news” that the AFL-CIO, now under President Richard Trumpka, has joined a “One Nation Working Together” coalition staging a Saturday rally with the Communist Party USA and other openly communist and socialist groups.

Consider Thursday’s Washington Post story about the “liberal” and “left-leaning” groups planning the October 2 march in Washington, D.C. Reporter Krissah Thompson says the coalition includes “environmentalists, antiwar activists, church and civil rights groups, union organizers and gay rights coalitions…” Nothing is said about the fact that the “One Nation Working Together” official list of “endorsing organizations” includes the CPUSA, best known for receiving Soviet funding and direction during the Cold War. But the CPUSA is not the only far-left group on the list. All that a reporter has to do is read it. But to report the facts would mean that organizers of the rally, led by a veteran Democratic Party operative, might have to be asked embarrassing questions. So the facts are ignored.

The liberal media bias and dishonesty aside, the change reflects how the progressive movement has capitulated to the forces of the anti-American left, in order to swell their ranks. It is a terrible development that is ominous for the future of the United States because of the hold that the progressives now have on the White House and Congress. It makes sensational reports of a few extremists in the conservative-oriented Tea Party movement look silly by comparison.

We noted in our recent column that the “peace director” of the “One Nation Working Together” rally ran an organization that defends accused Army traitor Bradley Manning. He talks openly about inviting communists to the rally. It doesn’t bother him in the least.

Unfortunately, this is the continuation of a trend we have seen since Barack Obama became President and hired communist Van Jones. After Trevor Loudon broke the story about Jones’ communist background and Glenn Beck of Fox News raised a ruckus, Jones left the administration, only to return to the group in Washington, D.C. where he had previously worked—the George Soros-funded Center for American Progress. This revolving door proves that the modern-day progressive movement is willing to work with communists and tolerate their destructive ideology. It is a tragic turnaround from the days when liberal Democrats shared the anti-communism that characterized U.S. foreign policy.

These communists are people who have always put the interests of foreign countries, most of them totalitarian in nature, ahead of the United States. They may not have the Soviet Union to depend on anymore, but they continue to get inspiration and guidance from Cuba. They represent an alien philosophy that has cost the lives of 100 million people through failed socialist schemes, violence, terrorism, and murder. As former FBI informant Larry Grathwohl has testified, the Weather Underground itself had plans to “re-educate” 100 million Americans and eliminate the 25 million who couldn’t be converted to communism.

Commie Libtard Howard Zinn=Hero to Progressives

Is it really shocking that a hero to the liberal-progressive left was a practicing communist? You might recall that all the Hollywood libtards praised this commie when they teamed up with him on the History Channel program called “The People Speak” in the hopes of getting Americans to realize the power of protest. Unless you protest against Obama, then these idiots will call you a racists.

On July 30, 2010, the FBI released one file with three sections totaling 423 pages on Howard Zinn, a best selling radical historian, teacher, playwright, and political activist.

Zinn was born in Brooklyn, New York and died at the age of 87 on January 27, 2010. As a young man he worked as a shipyard hand and served in the U. S. military as a bombardier during World War II. Returning from the war, he became involved in a number of left-wing political causes, some of them associated with the activities of the Communist Party of the United States (CPUSA).

In 1949, the FBI opened a domestic security investigation on Zinn (FBI File # 100-360217). The Bureau noted Zinn’s activities in what were called Communist Front Groups and received informant reports that Zinn was an active member of the CPUSA; Zinn denied ever being a member when he was questioned by agents in the 1950s. In the 1960s, the Bureau took another look at Zinn on account of his criticism of the FBI’s civil rights investigations. Further investigation was made when Zinn traveled to North Vietnam with Daniel Berrigan as an anti-war activist. The investigation ended in 1974, and no further investigation into Zinn or his activities was made by the FBI.

Snidely Whiplash

Ahhh, the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). Gotta love these fine folks, huh? Their slogan is “Radical Ideas. Real Politics.” On the home page of the CPUSA site they proudly offer a snippet of their history – the struggle as it were – where they tell us

// <![CDATA[

“The Communist Party has an unparalleled history in the progressive movement of the United States . . . .”

Huh? American Communists admitting a connection between progressives and Communists? Who knew?

Here is their home page: http://cpusa.org/

There have been trillions of words written and spoken about how American progressives are way left leaning folks. Funny how the progressives themselves deny any correlation to Communism, and how they defame any who maintain otherwise. But the best part is the CPUSA themselves tell us they are progressives.

Progressives talk, act and legislate in a Marxist-like manner and then get all indignant when anyone says “gee, seems like a Commie to me.” If one tells me I am thinking and acting like a conservative, I wear that mantle proudly, but if I say they are Marxists and Communists, they go ballistic. That means either they are unaware their ideology is Marxist and almost full blown Communist, or they are less then honest. I wonder . . . .

Let’s examine some of the planks in the platform of the CPUSA and then you the reader tell me these two ideologies – progressivism and Marxism – are not two peas in a pod. Here is the link to their “constitution.”

http://www.cpusa.org/cpusa-constitution/

Read, if you can without dry heaving, the preamble. They should have just called it an “amble” as in “ambling” and they throw in everything including the kitchen sink in the little diatribe.

Move on to the FAQ section where we see the question “What does the Communist Party stand for?” The best part of the answer is “We believe that the American people can replace capitalism with a system that puts people before profit – socialism.” Oh, and then there’s the last paragraph of the section that informs us:
