This is basically what Obama is celebrating. Obama is patting himself on the back for extending those once “evil” Bush payroll tax extension. He then tells Americans that the extra $40 bucks saved from the payroll extension will help with the record high gas prices they are suffering due to his anti-fossil fuel policies. Golf clap for Obama.

What the mindless Obama-bots don’t realize is that Obama is stealing money from the Social Security trust fund, via FICA, and calling it a tax break. It’s only “evil” when Bush does it.

From The Hill:

Basking in the glory of his recent payroll tax cut victory, President Obama urged Congress on Tuesday to move ahead on other policies he has put forward that will help improve the economy and benefit middle-class Americans.

“My message to Congress is, ‘Don’t stop here. Keep going,’ ” Obama said at the White House in a 10-minute victory-lap speech.

“Keep taking the action that people are calling for to keep this economy growing,” Obama said before a diverse group of Americans who had written the president to explain how the extension would help them.

Obama briefly touched on rising gas prices, saying the payroll tax cut extension will help families who are struggling to fill their tanks.

For the typical family, he said the tax cut was “a big deal.”

“It means $40 extra in their paycheck, and that $40 helps to pay the rent, the groceries, the rising cost of gas — which is on a lot of people’s minds right now,” he said.

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

Didn’t Barney Frank and other Democrats say the same thing about Freddie and Fannie? Now Obama is making delusion statements about Social Security not being in a crisis. I guess he didn’t read the reports that Social Security is paying out more than it takes in for the first time in its history?

The Hill reports:

President Obama said Social Security is not in crisis and only modest changes are needed to keep it solvent.

Social Security is the biggest Ponzi scheme in history. The government takes FICA out of the taxpayer’s checks and claim it is safe in the Social Security system. They promise to give you back this money to supplement your retirement (many Americans use SS to fund their full retirement). Then when you finally retire and expect your money, it just might not be there due to politicians using the SS system as a government slush-fund to pay for other entitlement programs.

The president acknowledged at a small town hall gathering in Columbus, Ohio, Wednesday that the pension fund “has to be tweaked because the population is getting older” but said Republicans’ plans to drastically overhaul the program are wrong.

“Social Security is not in crisis,” Obama said. “We’re going to have to make some modest adjustments in order to strengthen it.”

Social Security has become a significant campaign issue during the August recess — Democrats have attacked the GOP, accusing them of wanting to privatize the Great Depression-era program. They cite Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) budget roadmap, which proposes raising the retirement age to 70 and cutting benefits for wealthy retirees.

In the past, the GOP has proposed putting some Social Security benefits in private accounts. But many Republicans have said they do not support the plan.

Still, some economists worry the program will soon become insolvent because there are more retirees and, thus, fewer workers paying into the system. Recent polling also shows that most people believe they will not receive their benefits upon retirement.

But the president said these problems can be solved so everyone can receive benefits.

“There are some fairly modest changes that could be made without resorting to any newfangled schemes that would continue Social Security for another 75 years, where everybody would get the benefits they deserve,” he said.

“I have been adamant that Social Security should not be privatized, and it will not be privatized as long as I am president,” he added.

Is the U.S. free anymore? It is OUR money and WE have the RIGHTS to do with OUR MONEY as we deem fit. Social Security is in a crisis despite what Obama claims. Remember, this is the guy who claimed his $1 trillion stimulus would keep unemployment below 8% and create (not save) 3.5 million new jobs.

Social Security is broke. There is no money in the system. All that’s in there are IOU’s. That’s the facts folks. Keep on paying into this Ponzi scheme and keep trusting politicians with YOUR MONEY. How is that working for America?
