Obama’s Labor Department Spends $40 Mil on Foreign Labor Causes in Final Days of 2012

 

Yet they can’t think of anything to cut.

With 12 million Americans out of work the government agency responsible for advancing opportunities for profitable employment has gone on a frantic year-end spending spree, doling out tens of millions of dollars to foreign causes that won’t put a dent in the nation’s unemployment crisis.

In the last few weeks of 2012, the Obama Department of Labor (DOL) generously dedicated nearly $40 million to global initiatives unlikely to help workers in this country. The money will go to efforts that strengthen unions and help combat child labor in African, central and South American countries. This includes $10 million to combat the prevalence of child labor in agriculture and domestic service in Tanzania and $5 million to battle it in Burkina Faso’s cotton production and gold mining industries.

The South American allotment—$5.35 million—will support the socialist government of Brazil in its effort to crackdown on forced child labor, which is “abhorrent” and “cannot be tolerated,” according to Obama Labor Secretary Hilda Solis. Victims and their households will be linked to social and livelihood programs, as per a DOL announcement. A portion of the cash will also go to Peru, where evidently child labor is also a problem

Additionally, the DOL gave an international labor organization a separate $10 million grant to help combat the labor abuse of“vulnerable groups” in Ecuador and Panama. This will target Afro-descendant, indigenous and migrant populations. The same international labor organization also got an extra $5 million from Uncle Sam to reduce child domestic work in four provinces of Indonesia. This will be accomplished by building the capacity of domestic worker organizations and promoting decent work for domestic workers.

A few days later the DOL gave a leftist labor group, the American Center for International Labor Solidarity, $2.2 million to strengthen “worker organizations” (can you say unions?) in Haiti and Peru. Solis says it will help vulnerable Haitians and Peruvians “engage in productive, effective negotiations with government and employers.” The agency capped the year by giving a Colombian union $1.5 million to strengthen labor rights in that South American country. All the cash was doled out in the last few days of 2012! In mid-October the DOL dedicated $1.5 million to promote collective bargaining and improve labor relations in Vietnam.

Let’s Celebrate: Unemployment is Still Above 8% for the 44th Straight Month

The liberal media is excited about the unemployment rate dropping to 8.1%, however none of them mention the unemployment rate remaining above 8% for the 44th straight month. No mention about the record number of Americans dropping out of the labor force which is why the unemployment rate has been dropping from the 9% and 10% number during Obama’s presidency. Let’s celebrate these horrible numbers under Obama.

Obama’s socialist Labor Secretary, Hilda Solis thinks these jobs numbers are a sign of “steady healing.”  44 straight months of having an unemployment number greater than the day you took office is “steady healing?” Is having 119,000 less Americans in the labor force a sign of “steady healing?” Is having a 30-year low in the labor force participation rate a sign of “steady healing?”

Oh the media will spin the lowering of the unemployment number but will not tell the half-wits out there why the numbers are dropping. They will continue the narrative that Obama is saving/creating jobs instead of admitting Americans are giving up. What is ironic is Obama, as a Senator, excoriated Bush’s unemployment number and the unemployment report that showed a gain of 300,000 jobs.

Obama’s economy only “added” 96,000 in August and Team Obama claims this is a sign that the economy is healing, yet Senator Obama attacked Bush for his 300,000 monthly jobs report. Remember folks, Bush never saw an unemployment rate above 7.8% and that didn’t happen until Democrats took control of Congress.

So as the media and Team Obama celebrate, remember the numbers. The numbers don’t lie but Obama and the media will.

Obama’s Education and Labor Secretaries Met with Illegal Immigrants to Scheme about How to Advance Radical DREAM Act

The DREAM Act was so radical, Obama couldn’t get it passed while Democrats controlled both the House and Senate. However, as we’ve come to learn, Obama will do whatever he can to usurp Congress and will try to pass some sort of backdoor amnesty just in time for the 2012 elections. Criminals tend to favor/vote Democrats.

(CNSNews.com) – A group of illegal aliens visited the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 15 where they held a “Student Voices” meeting with Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, according to information about the meeting posted on the official Department of Education and Department of Labor websites.

How do criminals get so close to presidential cabinet members? Did the FBI vet these criminals?

Department of Education Spokesman Jim Bradshaw, while acknowledging receiving questions about the meeting from CNSNews.com, failed to respond to those questions after they were put to him via both phone and email messages on Thursday and Friday of this week.

At the meeting, according to the Department of Labor’s website, Duncan told the illegal aliens about the administration’s “efforts to assist students who are undocumented” through the Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors Act—the DREAM Act. Solis also spoke to the illegal aliens about the DREAM Act.

The reason they’re “undocumented” is because they’re ILLEGAL.

Comedy Gold: Obama’s Labor Secretary is driving a Canadian Built Chevrolet to show support for American Workers

This administration loves Canada. They push Canadian-style health care. Obama buys Canadian built buses to campaign around in and now his idiotic, illegal immigrant protecting Labor Secretary gets caught driving a Canadian-built Chevrolet while speaking about supporting American workers.

Does this administration know how to vet the items they push?

To show her support for American workers, President Obama’s labor secretary, Hilda Solis, has junked the standard black limo and purchased a new Chevrolet Equinox to ride around Washington in. The problem: the crossover SUV is built and assembled in Canada from parts also made in Canada.

Solis proudly arrived at a media breakfast hosted by theChristian Science Monitor today in the shiny silver vehicle, which she has dubbed the “bullet.” She was asked about why she traded the standard-issue limo for the SUV. “What better example could I set if I encouraged my staff to go and purchase and seek how we could acquire a vehicle that would for me would send a signal that we’re for supporting our American workers, American-made products, fuel efficient as well,” she told the Monitor’sDave Cook, who provided this video of her answer.

Solis added that she was inspired to buy the Chevy because of the pride she saw in American auto workers during trips to U.S. car and truck plants. She said that she was wowed by “the pride that they take making our automobiles here in America.”

The car is made at two Canadian plants and has been so popular that General Motors has been hiring more workers in Canada to keep up with demand. [See who's in Obama's inner circle.]

A company official noted that the profits do come back to the United States.

This is the most clueless administration in U.S. history.

FOIA Request revel a lot of fraud was involved with ObamaCare and those who pimped it

This is why the Obama regime is denying most of the FOIA requests they receive. It let’s the truth out.

Crossroads GPS, the cash-flush Republican advocacy group, is launching a new initiative and website Thursday, Wikicountability.org, which is designed to crowdsource FOIA files from organizations, individuals and journalists who have sought, and who have received, public information from the Obama administration. Thousands of pages of information from the departments of Labor and Health and Human Services have been uploaded to the site, and Crossroads is encouraging other groups and individuals to upload their own FOIA reports as well.

Notice the attack on the group that exposes the truth to the taxpayers?

The site is also designed to spotlight what it suggests is the administration’s poor record of compliance with FOIA — with a special section devoted to unfulfilled FOIA requests.

The launch of Wikicountability.org will reveal:

- The Andy Griffith ad promoting Obamacare last year cost taxpayers $3.66 million – including $404,000 in production – according to records obtained from HHS in a FOIA request earlier this year.

I wrote about this back in December of 2010. Fact-check.org said some 10 million Medicare recipients will see their benefits cut. This is not what Andy states in the ads. More fraud sold by a fraud.

- Labor Secretary Hilda Solis met with union bosses or attended their events on more than 40 separate occasions from February 2009-January 2010.

Got to keep the ones who got your boss in office happy. This is the same woman who sided with the violent union protestersand wants to give unions more power. This is the same group that failed to release the Union corruption report. Got to hide the truth.

- Consumer Financial Protection Bureau head Elizabeth Warren made time for dinner with liberal journalists including American Prospect’s Bob Kuttner, Mother Jones’s David Corn and DailyKos.com’s Markos Moulitsas.

Another Obama ”special adviser“ who was appointed without congressional approval. Even Democratswere upset with this. I wonder why she would be eating with liberal bloggers? Got to spin the truth anyway you can and with the liberal media in bed with the administration, it happens all the time.

Do you think ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS have the Rights to Fair Wages???

I say Hell No! If you’re ILLEGAL, you have no grounds to ask for rights that Americans and LEGAL immigrants have.

Obama’s tax cheat Labor Secretary, and open border advocate, Hilda Solis, believes ILLEGALS do have rights to fair wages…so they can avoid paying taxes and send the majority of their money back to Mexico. Solis is promoting illegal immigration.

“You Have the Right to Be Paid Fairly Whether Documented or Not.”

Why is it hard for Progressives to understand what the word ILLEGAL means. Since when do ILLEGALS have a right to work? How can you work in the United States without a legal social security card or other documents that prove they can work LEGALLY in the US? Liberals/Progressives claim it is racial profiling to ask for these documents.

Maybe if our government would enforce our immigration laws and stop allowing these parasites to burden our education, legal, health care and welfare systems, these ILLEGALS would go home. Not to mention the burden these ILLEGALS place upon the taxpayers and LEGAL immigrants.

Democrats want amnesty and open borders because this increases their voter rolls. Ever wonder why Democrats are pro-criminal and why criminals vote Democrat?

Labor Secretary: Jobless Can Help in Clean-up of BP Oil Spill

Is the Obama administration so desperate to prove their stimulus worked that they would hire unexperienced and unemployed Americans to clean up the toxic oil spill along the Gulf Coast? Tax-cheat, and current Labor Secretary, Hilda Solis thinks this is a great idea.

I have an even better idea. How about subjugating BP to clean up their own mess instead of trying to make it sound like an awesome job opportunity for unemployed Americans.
