Most of America is pissed to see CEO’s receiving millions of dollars in bonuses. Americans are really pissed when they hear the news that CEO’s of bailed-out corporations, who received billion of taxpayer dollars, getting million dollar bonuses.
Obama has attacked “fat-cat” bankers who received millions in bonuses, but turns a big deaf ear on those that donated huge amounts of money to his campaign. With those big ears, why is Obama not listening to the anger from Americans?
Bloomberg reports:
President Barack Obama said he doesn’t “begrudge” the $17 million bonus awarded to JPMorgan Chase & Co. Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon or the $9 million issued to Goldman Sachs Group Inc. CEO Lloyd Blankfein, noting that some athletes take home more pay.
The president, speaking in an interview, said in response to a question that while $17 million is “an extraordinary amount of money” for Main Street, “there are some baseball players who are making more than that and don’t get to the World Series either, so I’m shocked by that as well.”
“I know both those guys; they are very savvy businessmen,” Obama said in the interview yesterday in the Oval Office with Bloomberg BusinessWeek, which will appear on newsstands Friday. “I, like most of the American people, don’t begrudge people success or wealth. That is part of the free- market system.”
WTF? Talk about hypocrisy. Again, another example of Obama’s double-talk.
It’s perfectly fine for these guys to profit because they are close to the Obama administration. However, Obama put a “Pay Czar” in place to control the free market system and to stop “fat-cat” bankers, even those that paid back the TARP loans, from receiving bonuses. This reeks of hypocrisy but then again, this is Obama.
