None of the Team Obama’s stories add up because they’re lying to us.

(CNSNews.com) – The chairman and the vice chairman of the State Department Accountability Review Board (ARB) that investigated the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on U.S. facilities in Benghazi, Libya, made dramatically different statements on Wednesday about the duration of those attacks that resulted in the deaths of four Americans.

The relevant duration of the event shrunk from “almost eight hours” to “only about 20 or 30 minutes” when a reporter asked this “accountability” team why the U.S. military had not been sent to Benghazi to help that night.

During his opening statement at a State Department briefing, Ambassador Thomas Pickering, who chaired the ARB, said the terrorist attacks occurred over a span of almost eight hours.

“What happened on September 11th and 12th in Benghazi was a series of attacks in multiple locations by unknown assailants that ebbed and flowed over a period of almost eight hours,” Pickering volunteered.

About 20 minutes later in the same briefing, as Ambassador Pickering nodded his head in agreement, retired Admiral Michael Mullen, the vice chairman of the ARB, put the Benghazi terror event in a very different timeframe. He said it lasted only about 20 or 30 minutes.

Mullen, who formerly served as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was responding to a reporter who had asked why the U.S. military never became involved.

“Why such a passing reference to military involvement?” the reporter asked. “Can you explain why they couldn’t have done more?”

“We looked at the force posture very specifically, and while we had a lot of forces in Europe both at sea and on land, it is not reasonable that they could have responded … in any kind of timely way,” said Mullen. “This was over in a matter of about 20 or 30 minutes with respect to the Special Mission specifically. And we had no forces ready or tethered, if you will, focused on that mission so that they could respond, nor would I expect we would have.”

Mullen not only narrowed the length of the terror attack to 20 or 30 minutes, but also defined it as only those events at the “Special Mission” compound, which was the State Department’s facility in Benghazi.

However, a CIA timeline of the Sept. 11 events, which was provided by a senior U.S. intelligence official, and which generally comports with the description of events in the ARB’s own report, shows that about one hour and fifty minutes elapsed between the time the State Department’s “Special Mission” compound first came under attack and the moment when a rescue team from the nearby CIA “Annex” was able to extract the surviving U.S. personnel from that mission.

The reason for hiding the truth from Americans was because the truth went against the Obama regime’s narrative of al-Qaeda being on the run and on their heels. Couldn’t have the truth slipping out before an election so the cover-up began. Now the truth is slowly slipping out despite the Obama regime’s attempt to point fingers at everyone else.

(CBS News) WASHINGTON – CBS News has learned that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) cut specific references to “al Qaeda” and “terrorism” from the unclassified talking points given to Ambassador Susan Rice on the Benghazi consulate attack – with the agreement of the CIA and FBI. The White House or State Department did not make those changes.

There has been considerable discussion about who made the changes to the talking points that Rice stuck to in her television appearances on Sept. 16 (video), five days after the attack that killed American Ambassador to Libya Chris Stevens, and three other U.S. nationals.

Republicans have accused her of making misleading statements by referring to the assault as a “spontaneous” demonstration by extremists. Some have suggested she used the terminology she did for political reasons.

However, an intelligence source tells CBS News correspondent Margaret Brennan the links to al Qaeda were deemed too “tenuous” to make public, because there was not strong confidence in the person providing the intelligence. CIA Director David Petraeus, however, told Congress he agreed to release the information — the reference to al Qaeda — in an early draft of the talking points, which were also distributed to select lawmakers.

“The intelligence community assessed from the very beginning that what happened in Benghazi was a terrorist attack.” DNI spokesman Shawn Turner tells CBS News. That information was shared at a classified level — which Rice, as a member of President Obama’s cabinet, would have been privy to.

An intelligence source says the talking points were passed from the CIA to the DNI, where the substantive edits were made, and then to FBI, which made more edits as part of “standard procedure.”

The head of the DNI is James Clapper, an Obama appointee. He ultimately did review the points, before they were given to Ambassador Rice and members of the House intelligence committee on Sept. 14. They were compiled the day before.

Clapper is the same idiot who didn’t know a thing about the 12 terrorist arrested in London or  the Christmas terror plots to bring down US-bound airliners.

Every once in a while, McCain makes since. Obama and his administration knowingly lied about the September 11th attack in Benghazi happening because of a YouTube video due to the terrorist attack contradicting Team Obama’s “al-Qaeda is on the run…al-Qaeda is on it’s heels…I killed bin Laden” talking points on foreign policy. They couldn’t let the truth slip out weeks ahead of an election.

From Mediaite:

Sen. John McCain paid a visit to CBS’ Face the Nation this weekend, to discuss the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, particularly through the lens of the White House response to the situation. Asked why the president’s administration would be unwilling to immediately connect the incident to terrorism, McCain pointed to the administration’s misleading narrative.

“If the administration misled people, if the administration was reluctant to say that this was a work of terrorists, if in fact it was, why would they be so reluctant to say that?” Bob Schieffer asked.

McCain pointed to President Barack Obama‘s “I got bin Laden, al Qaeda’s on the run” narrative. It’s not true, he said. “Al Qaeda is making a strong comeback all over the Middle East.”

“It may interfere with that narrative,” McCain said. He then raised another point. “They said they wanted to not give a ‘classified’ assessment of what happened because they didn’t want to betray sources. Well, if classified assessment changed the unclassified assessment, why in the world would you keep that information from the American people?”

The scandal keeps growing.

From WFB:

CNN reports that former Central Intelligence Agency director David H. Petraeus wants to tell Congress that he knew “almost immediately” that the attack on the U.S. Mission in Benghazi was perpetrated by terrorists.

According to the source, reports attributing the attack to protests surrounding an anti-Islam video and protests in Cairo were not disproven until after Petraeus made his initial report to Congress.

Despite that, according to CNN, Petraeus had separate talking points from Rice’s and that her talking points came from somewhere else in the administration.

There was never an effort because if there was US troops would have been there and US Marines would have been protecting the US embassy.

From Politico:

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta says the U.S. military “did everything they were in position to do” about the attack on the U.S. consulate in Libya.

Ambassador Stevens and 3 others would contradict Panetta’s statement..but they’re dead.

In a letter and timeline sent to Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), the ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Panetta said the Sept. 11 attack on the consulate and nearby annex in Benghazi were over before U.S. forces could arrive.

In the meantime, he said, the Defense Department diverted a nearby unarmed, unmanned drone to the consulate and dispatched special operations forces from Europe and the United States.

“The department’s senior leaders and I spared no effort to save the lives of our American colleagues, as we worked to bolster security in response to a series of other threats in the region occurring at the same time,” Panetta said.

Except for the security at the embassy, where Ambassador Stevens begged for more.

Still, it’s unclear whether Panetta’s explanation and timeline will satisfy members of Congress who continue to press the administration for more details and transparency about the attack.

Remember, the Obama regime called this “work-place violence” instead of a terrorist attack.

(Reuters) – Families and victims of a mass shooting in 2009 at the Fort Hood military base in Texas filed a wrongful death suit on Monday against the U.S. government, the accused gunman and the estate of an alleged al Qaeda leader.

The 148 plaintiffs are seeking damages and a ruling that the rampage was a terrorist attack. The finding would clear the way for them to receive benefits.

Major Nidal Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, faces 13 charges of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder for the November 5, 2009, attack on soldiers preparing to deploy to Iraq.

Survivors have expressed frustration about repeated delays over the past three years in bringing Hasan to trial. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces indefinitely postponed Hasan’s court-martial last month pending further review.

The suit filed in U.S. District Court in the District of Columbia alleges that Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and other officials disregarded the safety of soldiers and civilians at Fort Hood. It also alleges that they allowed Hasan to be in a position to open fire on the troops despite knowing he was a “radical extremist.”

“The government seems to have gone out of its way to give the stiff arm to these victims. They have made their lives miserable,” said attorney Neal Shur, who is the lead counsel in the case.

The lead plaintiff is Shawn Manning, who was an Army staff sergeant three years ago and was shot six times.

“The Army has refused to acknowledge this was a terrorist attack, and I have exhausted all other options,” he said.

Is it really shocking that Team Obama appointed a Muslim/Islam appeaser to head the “investigation” on what happened in Benghazi? Idiots on the left use the word “Islamophobia” and “Islamophobes” in the same way they use the race card to shut down debate. This administration has made apologizing for America their number one priority along with appeasing those who follow the radical religion of Islam.

From FrontPageMag:

America is a seething hotbed of “Islamophobia,” filled with ignorant racist rubes who irrationally fear the benign Muslim religion, according to the Obama administration’s lead investigator into the Benghazi atrocities.

So said former Ambassador Thomas R. Pickering in more polished, diplomatic language during an Oct. 23 panel discussion at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. The talk was on “what role the faith community can play in fighting Islamophobia,” a make-believe mental illness that Islamists would love to have listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Radical Islam’s stateside defenders frequently accuse anti-terrorism hawks of “McCarthyism,” hurling the epithet “Islamophobe” the same way American leftists use the word “racist” to shut down debate.

Pickering’s pontifications came two and a half weeks after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton named him to head a State Department “Accountability Review Board” tasked with examining the circumstances surrounding the deaths on Sept. 11, 2012, the 11th anniversary of 9/11, of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, information management officer Sean Smith, and security personnel Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods at the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya.

Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were not security personnel at the US consulate. They were there looking for weapons (MANPADs)  the Obama administration had given to the al-Qaeda-linked Libyan rebels.

Of course Obama takes offense when facts stand in his way.

From Politico:

President Obama fired back at critics who have accused his administration of orchestrating a cover up over the September attacks in Libya.

“I do take offense with some suggestion that in any way, we haven’t tried to make sure that the American people knew as the information was coming in what we believed,” Obama told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” in an interview that aired Monday.

In the aftermath of the attacks that killed four Americans, the administration initially sought to blame the deaths on a riot sparked by an anti-Muslim video in their public statements. The intelligence community later reversed itself, admitting the attacks were pre-planned and likely the work of terrorists or militants.

Obama vowed to hold individuals in his administration responsible at the conclusion of the investigation, if they’re found negligent.

Of course Team Obama is denying this and Obama is saying this isn’t an election issue. The lying and cover-up makes it a huge issues.

From Fox News:

Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that an urgent request from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. consulate and subsequent attack several hours later on the annex itself was denied by the CIA chain of command — who also told the CIA operators twice to “stand down” rather than help the ambassador’s team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11.

Former Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods was part of a small team who was at the CIA annex about a mile from the U.S. consulate where Ambassador Chris Stevens and his team came under attack. When he and others heard the shots fired, they informed their higher-ups at the annex to tell them what they were hearing and requested permission to go to the consulate and help out. They were told to “stand down,” according to sources familiar with the exchange. Soon after, they were again told to “stand down.”

Woods and at least two others ignored those orders and made their way to the consulate which at that point was on fire. Shots were exchanged. The rescue team from the CIA annex evacuated those who remained at the consulate and Sean Smith, who had been killed in the initial attack. They could not find the ambassador and returned to the CIA annex at about midnight.

At that point, they called again for military support and help because they were taking fire at the CIA safe house, or annex. The request was denied. There were no communications problems at the annex, according those present at the compound. The team was in constant radio contact with their headquarters. In fact, at least one member of the team was on the roof of the annex manning a heavy machine gun when mortars were fired at the CIA compound. The security officer had a laser on the target that was firing and repeatedly requested back-up support from a Spectre gunship, which is commonly used by U.S. Special Operations forces to provide support to Special Operations teams on the ground involved in intense firefights.

CIA spokeswoman Jennifer Youngblood, though, denied the claims that requests for support were turned down.

“We can say with confidence that the Agency reacted quickly to aid our colleagues during that terrible evening in Benghazi,” she said. “Moreover, no one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate.  In fact, it is important to remember how many lives were saved by courageous Americans who put their own safety at risk that night-and that some of those selfless Americans gave their lives in the effort to rescue their comrades.”

So if it wasn’t the CIA who actually denied military help? Was it the commander-in-chief , the State Department or Pentagon?

The fighting at the CIA annex went on for more than four hours — enough time for any planes based in Sigonella Air base, just 480 miles away, to arrive. Fox News has also learned that two separate Tier One Special operations forces were told to wait, among them Delta Force operators.

A Special Operations team, or CIF which stands for Commanders in Extremis Force, operating in Central Europe had been moved to Sigonella, Italy, but they were never told to deploy. In fact, a Pentagon official says there were never any requests to deploy assets from outside the country. A second force that specializes in counterterrorism rescues was on hand at Sigonella, according to senior military and intelligence sources. According to those sources, they could have flown to Benghazi in less than two hours. They were the same distance to Benghazi as those that were sent from Tripoli. Spectre gunships are commonly used by the Special Operations community to provide close air support.

According to sources on the ground during the attack, the special operator on the roof of the CIA annex had visual contact and a laser pointing at the Libyan mortar team that was targeting the CIA annex. The operators were calling in coordinates of where the Libyan forces were firing from.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta told reporters at the Pentagon on Thursday that there was not a clear enough picture of what was occurring on the ground in Benghazi to send help.

“There’s a lot of Monday morning quarterbacking going on here,” Panetta said Thursday. “But the basic principle here … is that you don’t deploy forces into harm’s way without knowing what’s going on.”

Wonder if Hillary will release the documents before, or after, the election? Rumor is that Bill wants her to release them to clear her name. I’m guessing if Obama loses the election, Hillary won’t hold back.
