Obama Authorized U.S. Participation in Botched French Somalia Mission

Shhh, you wouldn’t know anything about this due to the liberal media hiding the truth…as usual.

President Obama informed Congress Sunday evening that U.S. forces were present in Somalia on Friday for a French raid to rescue a hostage from al-Shabaab.

The attempt to rescue the intelligence officer who had been held by the terrorist group for three years went very wrong, though.

One French commando was killed in the operation and another is missing. Al-Shabaab claimed that the commando is now their hostage.

And French army consultant Denis Allex, the pseudonym for the intelligence officer, is presumed dead.

“Extremely violent fights took place, during which everything leads us to think that Mr. Allex was shot dead by his kidnappers,” France’s Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian told reporters at a news conference Saturday. Al-Shabaab claimed Allex is still alive and in their hands.

Obama sent his notice in accordance with the War Powers Resolution to House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate President Pro Tempore Pat Leahy (D-Vt.) today.

“United States forces provided limited technical support to the French forces in that operation, but took no direct part in the assault on the compound where it was believed the French citizen was being held hostage,” Obama wrote.

“United States combat aircraft briefly entered Somali airspace to support the rescue operation, if needed. These aircraft did not employ weapons during the operation. The U.S. forces that supported this operation left Somalia by approximately 8:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on January 11, 2013.”

FLASHBACK–Obama: ‘We’re Not Fighting Terrorists, We’re Fighting People Who Engage in Terrorism’

Obama has always had a problem with Muslim terrorists and calling them terrorists. See the Fort Hood terrorist attack and Benghazi for examples.

(CNSNews.com) – Shortly after being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2004, Barack Obama expressed his view that “people who engage in terrorism” are not “terrorists.”

“We’re not fighting terrorists, we’re fighting people who engage in terrorism,” he said at a Nov. 23, 2004 book-signing for his first autobiography, Dreams From My Father.

Obama appeared at a bookstore in New York City just months after delivering the keynote address at the Democratic National Convention, which elevated him to the national stage.

“Ultimately, terrorism is a tactic,” Obama said. “We’re not fighting terrorists, we’re fighting people who engage in terrorism, but have a whole host of rationales and excuses for why they do this.

“And to the extent that we can change the sense of opportunity in many of these countries, and we can change the manner in which we function in these countries in more positive, proactive ways, then we’re not going to eliminate terrorism entirely, but we’re at least going to be able to make more of a dent than if all we’re resorting to is military firepower.” (See his full remarks here.)

Obama’s UN Ambassador and Potential Secretary of State, Susan Rice, Thwarted Efforts to Capture Bin Laden Under Clinton

Susan Rice is currently Obama’s UN Ambassador and is the same left-wing idiot who attempted to blame the 9/11 attack in Benghazi on a YouTube video. What many don’t know is Rice worked under Bill Clinton (No…not like that…get your mind out of the gutter) and is blamed for thwarting the efforts to capture Osama bin Laden in Africa. This left-wing radical blamed Bush for missed opportunities to capture bin Laden while fully knowing she was responsible for blocking his capture.

President-Elect Barack Obama has picked Dr. Susan Rice to be the new United Nations Ambassador. Rice served as Bill Clinton’s Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs and later worked as foreign policy advisor to John Kerry and John Edwards during their 2004 presidential campaign. Terrorism experts blame Rice for having played a key role in blocking efforts to neutralize Osama bin Laden in the 1990s. According to Mansoor Ijaz, a former trouble shooter for Clinton, the FBI had their efforts to capture bin Laden “overruled every single time by the State Department, by Susan Rice and her cronies, who were hell-bent on destroying the Sudan.” In a Washington Post Op-Ed published in 2002, Mansoor Ijaz and Tim Carney, U.S. Ambassador to Sudan blamed Susan Rice for being a major obstacle to accepting offers of help from Sudan and to share their intelligence on bin Laden’s terror network.

Now why would President Obama want this woman to be his Secretary of State? The idiots on the left, mainly the Congressional Black caucus, are screaming Republicans don’t want Rice as the next SOS because of sexism and racism (their typical calling card). Rice shouldn’t be SOS because she’s a radical and known liar, much like the President of the United States. I guess I answered my question to why Obama wants her as his SOS.

White House Denies Editing Terrorist-Link in CIA’s Benghazi Talking Points

Obama won’t take responsibility for anything.

The White House yesterday denied it edited talking points about the terrorist attack that killed the American ambassador to Libya — contradicting remarks made a day earlier by disgraced ex-CIA chief David Petraeus.

“The only edit that was made by the White House and also by the State Department was to change the word ‘consulate’ to the word ‘diplomatic facility,’ since the facility in Benghazi was not formally a consulate,” Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes told reporters aboard Air Force One.

“Other than that, we were guided by the points that were provided by the intelligence community. So I can’t speak to any other edits that may have been made.”

Petraeus on Friday told lawmakers that from the onset of the investigation about the Sept. 11 attack, US intelligence pointed to al Qaeda affiliates.

The former four-star general, who resigned from the CIA Nov. 9 due to an affair with his biographer, Paula Broadwell, said the unclassified talking points were later revised to omit any mention of al Qaeda.

The edits would have been made after the statements had left the CIA for review by the Defense and State departments, ultimately landing at the White House.

But instead of relaying what the CIA initially reported, UN Ambassador Susan Rice repeatedly insisted the attack was a spontaneous protest spurred by an American-made video depicting Prophet Mohammed as a pedophile.

Lawmaker: Petraeus Testifies and Claims CIA Talking Points Changed (See Obama Regime)

From day one, the Obama administration has been on a Muslim appeasement tour. They refused to say “war on terror” and removed any mention of Islamic terrorism in training manuals. This is the same regime that wouldn’t call a Muslim shouting “Allahu Akbar” as he killed US military member at Fort Hood a terrorist attack and labeled it “workplace violence.” So ex CIA Director David Petraeus testifying and telling lawmakers that the talking points were changed to blame a YouTube video instead of Islamic terrorist is not shocking. Team Obama has a documented patter of changing things to fit their agenda.

Former CIA Director David Petraeus testified in a closed-door hearing Friday morning that his agency determined immediately after the Sept. 11 Libya attack that “Al Qaeda involvement” was suspected — but the line was taken out in the final version circulated to administration officials, according to a top lawmaker who was briefed.

Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., who spoke to reporters after Petraeus testified before the House Intelligence Committee, indicated he and other lawmakers still have plenty of questions about the aftermath of the attack.

“No one knows yet exactly who came up with the final version of the talking points,” he said.

Petraeus was heading next to the Senate Intelligence Committee to testify. At the same time, lawmakers unexpectedly convened a briefing with top members of various committees to examine a Sept. 25 letter to President Obama that asked a series of classified questions on Benghazi.

Petraeus’ testimony both challenges the Obama administration’s repeated claims that the attack was a “spontaneous” protest over an anti-Islam video, and according to King conflicts with his own briefing to lawmakers on Sept. 14. Sources have said Petraeus, in that briefing, also described the attack as a protest that spun out of control.

“His testimony today was that from the start, he had told us that this was a terrorist attack,” King said, adding that he told Petraeus he had a “different recollection.”

Still, the claim that the CIA’s original talking points were changed is sure to stoke controversy on the Hill.

“The original talking points were much more specific about Al Qaeda involvement. And yet the final ones just said indications of extremists,” King said, adding that the final version was the product of a vague “inter-agency process.”

Further, King said a CIA analyst specifically told lawmakers that the Al Qaeda affiliates line “was taken out.”

Report: Occupy-Linked Anarchist Extremists Willing to Use Explosives During DNC

When can we finally expect a DHS memo on left-wing extremist???

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) -Law enforcement officials are concerned about possible violence by anarchist extremists at the upcoming Republican and Democratic national conventions, according to an intelligence bulletin prepared by the FBI and Department of Homeland Security.

The seven-page bulletin, obtained by WBTV, outlines information about potential anarchist extremism-related violent criminal activity and threats to public safety during the national political conventions, which start next week in Tampa.

At one point, the Joint Intelligence Bulletin states that anarchists could try to use improvised explosive devices.

“Anarchist extremists and other domestic extremist groups probably lack the capability to overcome the heightened security measures at the RNC and DNC venues,” the report states, “but could target nearby infrastructure, including local businesses or transportation systems and law enforcement personnel.”

The report states that a majority of anarchist activities during major events usually involve acts of property damage, vandalism and trespassing.  Past extremists have escalated to violent tactics such as assault and arson.

According to the unclassified document, individuals were reported coordinating criminal actions against the Bank of America in Charlotte, via a free downloadable software application, in May 2012.

A spokesperson for the Charlotte office of the FBI told WBTV that she could not comment on the document.

“I can tell you the FBI utilizes a variety of means to communicate with law enforcement and share information to assist in their overall situational awareness.” she told WBTV.

Chief Rodney Monroe Charlotte Mecklneburg Police Department has been aware of the documents before they went public.

” I think we have the ability to recognize it to spot it”Monroe said.” We have some pretty aggressive things in place to identify it.”he said.”Should those activities take place, but even if it does I believe we have the resources and the strategy for dealing with it.”

The document notes anarchists have a history of trying to disrupt major events.

“During past national and international political and economic events, anarchist extremists have blocked streets, intersections, and bridges to disrupt or impede local business operations and public transportation access and, in some instances have initiated violent confrontations with police,” the document states.

“FBI and DHS assess with high confidence anarchist extremists will target similar infrastructure in Tampa and Charlotte, with potentially significant impacts on public safety and transportation,” according to the law enforcement alert.

The FBI routinely issues intelligence bulletins in advance of many major events to warn local law enforcement of possible security concerns.

WBTV shared the memo with Mayor Anthony Foxx.

He said, “Our law enforcement agencies have been working closely together and I’m confident that they’re going to perform well during the convention.”

With the anniversary of Osama bin Laden’s death looming, American and European authorities told ABC News today that they fear al Qaeda may soon try to explode U.S.-bound aircraft with explosives hidden inside the bodies of terrorists.

Good thing this administration thinks al-Qaeda has been reduced to a “symbolic importance.“

As a result, security at several airports in the U.K. and elsewhere in Europe and the Middle East has been substantially stepped up, with a focus on U.S. carriers.

Additional federal air marshals have also been shifted overseas in advance of the anniversary. A year ago Tuesday night, President Obama announced on live television that bin Laden had been killed in a U.S. raid on a compound in Pakistan.

What good are federal air marshal going to do? They operate on planes. They do not scan or x-ray passengers. Once a body bomb terrorist is on the plane, it’s over.

Medical experts say there is plenty of room in the stomach area of the body for surgically implanted explosives. “The surgeon would open the abdominal cavity and literally implant the explosive device in amongst the internal organs,” explained Dr. Mark Melrose, a New York emergency medicine specialist.

Terrorist have used butt-bombs in past assassination attempts.

For the last year, U.S. and European authorities have publicly warned that al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP), al Qaeda’s Yemeni affiliate, and its master bomb-maker, Ibrahim al-Asiri, have been designing body bombs with no metal parts to get past airport security.

NYPD: Iran Is Conducting Surveillance For Possible Terrorist Attacks in NY

How’s that “un-clenched fist” policy working? Iran has already been busted for attempting to assassinate a Saudi diplomat on US soil and now we learn they have been conducting surveillance in New York for possible terrorist attacks/suicide bombings.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Authorities have interviewed at least 13 people since 2005 with ties to Iran’s government who were seen taking pictures of New York City landmarks, a senior New York Police Department official said Wednesday.

Police consider these instances to be pre-operational surveillance, bolstering their concerns that Iran or its proxy terrorist group could be prepared to strike inside the United States, if provoked by escalating tensions between the two countries.

Mitchell Silber, the NYPD’s director of intelligence analysis, told Congress that New York’s international significance as a terror target and its large Jewish population make the city a likely place for Iran and Hezbollah to strike. Silber testified before the House Homeland Security about the potential threat. Much of what Silber said echoed his previous statements on the potential threat, but he offered new details Wednesday about past activities in New York.
