The Tea Party has come out and unlike Democrats and Republicans, made a definitive statement to their elected representatives – do what we sent you to DC to do or we will elect someone who will! I like straight shooting, and I don’t care who does not like my “uncivil” reference to shooting.
The Tea Party took a firm stand and my, my if that isn’t refreshing as opposed to the non-stop prevarications and assorted hemming and hawing of Democrats and Republicans. Phillip Dennis, Texas Tea Party Organizer, was speaking to Chris Matthews on MSNBC, and spoke for his organization and by default for all of us who are Tea Party types.
Mathews’ discussed how long Speaker Boehner has been in DC and then spoke of Hal Rogers having been in DC thirty years. Matthews’ was painting the mosaic that new faces running the show will not bring change. He was trying to deflate the Tea Party spokesman’s hopefulness by assuring him these Republicans will act like the previous batch. Matthews’ runs the litany of why nothing will change with “And you’re counting on these guys carrying your water?”
Dennis shot back “I’m hopefully optimistic….they spent money like a bunch of Democrats.” He then reminded Matthews’ of the Tea Party card up his sleeve. “We’re gonna hold their feet to the fire and if they are not prepared Chris to make the big boy decisions that we want them to make then we’re going to find bigger boys.” His aim was straight and true.
Matthews’ then tried to portray that since the Republican power brokers are basically unbeatable in terms of reelection bids in 2012, he asked Dennis “What’s your threat against them?” Dennis again shot down the hopes of Matthews with his clever reply “My threat is you’d better find Jesus or watch your butt cause we’re watching you and in 2012, you’re in deep crap!” Damn I want to kiss that man!
