Barack Obama

Remember, this is the same guy who claimed the private sector is doing fine..despite the higher unemployment.

From Investors:

You may have noticed some economic difficulties across the country in recent years among family, friends, neighbors, colleagues. One sector is doing quite nicely, however, under Barack Hussein Obama.

In the 1,420 days since he took the oath of office, the federal government has daily hired on average 101 new employees. Every day. Seven days a week. All 202 weeks. That makes 143,000 more federal workers than when Obama talked forever on that cold day in January of 2009.

Under Obama the total federal workforce has surpassed two million for the first time since the first Clinton term, now sitting about the 2.2 ,million level.

Now comes a new poll revealing that Americans know what’s going on. A majority of Americans believes government workers make more money than private sector workers, according to the new Rasmussen Reports poll. Sixty-one percent of private sector workers believe that.

Surprisingly, Republicans, independents and Democrats are united in agreement that government employees have it better than private sector workers although, predictably, Dems are slightly less sure.

“The federal workforce has become an elite island of secure and high-paid workers, separated from the ocean of average American workers competing in the global economy,” according to a report this year by the Cato Institute.

That report found the average civilian federal government worker collected just under $84,000 a year in taxpayer money, about $32,000 more than the average private sector worker. That’s a total federal worker package of about $236 billion a year.

Lies as easily as he breathes

Obama is still campaigning because he doesn’t have anything else to worry about, like…the fiscal cliff. Obama continues to lie about bargaining rights to incite his fellow union goons. In reality, the right-to-work law allows people to not be forced to join unions as a condition of employment. The liberal media won’t point out Obama’s lies but I will.

(CNSNews.com) – Speaking at the Daimler Detroit Diesel Plant in Redford, Mich., on Monday, President Barack Obama lashed out at the Michigan legislature for passing a right-to-work law and declared that Americans only needed to look at Michigan if they wanted to see how unions helped build the middle class.

“These so called right to work laws, they don’t have to do with economics,” Obama said. “They have everything to do with politics.

“What they’re really talking about is giving you the right to work for less money,” said Obama. “You only have to look to Michigan where workers were instrumental in reviving the auto industry to see how unions have helped build not just a stronger middle class but a stronger America.”

The American taxpayer revived the auto industry with the bailout. Thanks to unions, states like Michigan are hell-holes. See Detroit for example.

Unemployment in Michigan was 9.1 percent in October.

The state legislature passed the bill last week that would make union dues and membership voluntary for private sector unions and most public sector unions. Police and firefighters are the exception.

Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder has said he would sign the bill to make Michigan the nation’s 24th right-to-work state.

Obama scoffed at the legislation.

“We should do everything we can to encourage companies like Daimler to keep investing in American workers,” Obama said Monday. “And by the way, what we shouldn’t do, I just got to say this, what we shouldn’t be doing is try to take away your rights to bargain for better wages and working conditions.”

Nothing in the law stops collective bargaining but Obama is a well documented liar and a known law-flunky. See Arizona SB1070 for example of how wrong Obama is about his law knowledge or his stupidity on Citizen’s United.

ant-n-grasshopper

It’s OK, Bam says the private sector is doing fine despite the higher unemployment rates and lower pay & benefits. Private sector workers are the ants and pubic sector, mostly unionized, workers are the grasshopper. We’ve know this for decades.

From WSJ:

With state and local governments struggling to balance budgets in a still sluggish economy, government employment has fallen by 562,000 jobs since September 2008, a decline of 2.6%. In response, the Obama administration has called for more federal aid—on top of the $250 billion doled out in the 2009 Recovery Act—to help keep state and local government payrolls near prerecession levels.

Obama believes the private sector is doing fine and it’s his unionized public sector workers who need help stealing more money from us.

But supporters of more federal aid implicitly assume that the size of the public sector was optimal before the recession. On the contrary, overstaffing is a serious problem in government, and the best evidence is a simple empirical fact: Government employees don’t work as much as private employees. If public-sector employees just worked as many hours as their private counterparts, governments at all levels could save more than $100 billion in annual labor costs.

Won’t happen under Obama. He has been paying back those who put $$$ into his presidency.

How do we know that? Are we just dredging up well-worn stereotypes of government employees enjoying shorter work days, prolonged sick leave and extended vacation breaks? In fact, new evidence from a comprehensive and objective data set confirms that the “underworked” government employee is more than a stereotype.

It nice to be a parasite upon the taxpayers…

[...] What we found was that during a typical workweek, private-sector employees work about 41.4 hours. Federal workers, by contrast, put in 38.7 hours, and state and local government employees work 38.1 hours. In a calendar year, private-sector employees work the equivalent of 3.8 more 40-hour workweeks than federal employees and 4.7 more weeks than state and local government workers. Put another way, private employees spend around an extra month working each year compared with public employees. If the public sector worked that additional month, governments could theoretically save around $130 billion in annual labor costs without reducing services.

We’ve excluded teachers from the full-year comparison because of their naturally shorter work year. But could public-private differences in work time be due to other occupational differences between the sectors? Large differences in work hours actually persist even when comparing workers with similar jobs and similar skills in each sector.

Union Goons for Obama.

From the Las Vegas Review:

Voter registration fraud is not a groundless conspiracy. It is not a hypothetical threat to election integrity.

In Nevada, a battleground state that could decide the presidency and control of the U.S. Senate, it is real.

Last week, I met with two immigrant noncitizens who are not eligible to vote, but who nonetheless are active registered voters for Tuesday’s election. They said they were signed up by Culinary Local 226.

They speak and understand enough English to get by. But they don’t read English especially well. They say the Culinary official who registered them to vote didn’t tell them what they were signing and didn’t ask whether they were citizens. The immigrants said they trusted that the union official’s request was routine, thought nothing of it and went about their work.

Then the election drew closer. Then the Culinary canvassers started seeking them out and ordering them to go vote.

One of the immigrants was visited at home by a Culinary representative and said the operative made threats of deportation if no ballot was cast.

They didn’t understand how, as noncitizens, they could be registered to vote if it’s illegal for them to vote in a U.S. election. They didn’t understand that, upon being signed up, not only is their registration public record, but the record of whether they’ve voted is public as well.

After a few days of early voting, the union knew the immigrants still hadn’t voted. So union canvassers kept visiting.

One day, when a Culinary representative was told the immigrant wasn’t a citizen and wouldn’t vote, things got testy. The immigrant was “in so much trouble,” the Culinary operative said, according to Brenda Moraine, a local immigrant advocate who was there.

The immigrants spoke with me on the condition that I provide no identifying information about them beyond their membership in the Culinary. They’re afraid of reprisals from the union, they’re afraid of losing their jobs, and they’re concerned that their signatures are on a government document that says, in part, “I swear or affirm I am a U.S. citizen. I declare under penalty of perjury that the foregoing is true and correct.”

I verified their identities, their lack of citizenship and their status as active registered voters in Clark County.

Their agenda is his agenda and that’s why they helped Obama buy the 2008 election. The unions own Obama and Obama has rewarded them mightily over the past 4 years.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Lobbyists for the nation’s largest labor unions have had the run of the White House during its occupancy by a president who pledged from his first day in office to curb political influence.

At the same time President Obama personally limited access to the wealthy and powerful, including labor leaders, union lobbyists made nearly 500 visits to the White House during the Obama administration. The records, according to a review of available White House visitors logs, run through June..

…But the influence of unions on this White House might better be explained by the roughly 500 entries of names that track with the lobbying registrations for organized labor.

Recently, Anna Palmer of Politico wrote that President Obama had gone further than any president in keeping lobbyists out of the White House.

White House spokesman Eric Schultz told The Daily Beast, “This administration has adopted the strongest ethics policy in history, beginning on the [p]resident’s first day in office when he implemented unprecedented reforms to reduce the influence of the revolving door in Washington. In all instances, the administration takes steps as to avoid any conflicts of interest. Both past and present members of the administration have contributed to a successful record of compliance.”

The White House logs suggest the president made an exception for union lobbyists.

…The White House has hosted James Hoffa, president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters 22 times; Mary Kay Henry, president of the Service Employees International Union,15 times; Edwin Hill, president of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, 13 visits; Larry Cohen, president of the Communications Workers of America, and Lee Saunders, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, 10 times.

This is why Obama put a socialist union goon in control of the Labor Department: to hide and spin the numbers. Wonder how much money goes to Obama’s campaign due to these “uncaught errors?’

From Free Enterprises:

It should come as no surprise to anybody who has been following the exploits of the Department of Labor (DOL) to learn that Secretary Solis and her team aren’t exactly doing a bang-up job in ensuring that union bosses adhere to federal disclosure requirements concerning union finances.  Indeed, a recent report by the DOL’s Office of Inspector General (OIG) details how DOL’s Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS) “does not assess whether union financial integrity, democracy or transparency have actually increased.”

OLMS administers and oversees the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA), a law promoting transparency within labor organizations.  The law requires, among other things, labor unions to file annual financial reports with OLMS.  These reports help union members keep an eye on officers managing the union’s finances.

OLMS conducts audits of select unions each year to evaluate their compliance with the law’s reporting requirements.  The recent OIG report looks at how effective these audits have been and whether OLMS can properly measure its own performance.

How rigorous is the audit program?  Not very.  The OIG report states that “OLMS did not determine overall if its [audit program] was effective in detecting criminal and civil violations of the LMRDA to improve safeguards of union assets.”  In other words, OLMS cannot demonstrate whether it is effectively promoting union transparency and financial integrity.  As an example, according to the OIG report, in a sample of 513 audits, OLMS only identified violations in 81 (16%) of the audits.  However, when OIG reviewed the same 513 audits, it found that 473 audits (92%) contained violations of the federal disclosure requirements that should have been found by OLMS.  Whether attributed to OLMS’s incompetence or union favoritism, this glaring disparity is simply unacceptable.

A liar and taxcheat. Just your typical Obama goon!

Anybody notice a pattern? Members of Team Obama testify before Congress, lie and say no this didn’t happen only to have e-mails show it did? Obama is so beholden to the labor unions his administration totally screwed GM shareholders in order to reward union workers and now we learn Obama’s top taxcheat led the cutoff of non union workers’ pensions. This as Obama just labeled Mitt Romney “Romney-hood.”

From DC:

Emails obtained by The Daily Caller show that the U.S. Treasury Department, led by Timothy Geithner, was the driving force behind terminating the pensions of 20,000 salaried retirees at the Delphi auto parts manufacturing company.

The move, made in 2009 while the Obama administration implemented its auto bailout plan, appears to have been made solely because those retirees were not members of labor unions.

Must also mention that the Inspector General’s report (a Democrat & Obama donor) showed GM dealership closures were also political.

The internal government emails contradict sworn testimony, in federal court and before Congress, given by several Obama administration figures. They also indicate that the administration misled lawmakers and the courts about the sequence of events surrounding the termination of those non-union pensions, and that administration figures violated federal law.

This has happened with Solyndra testimony and when Obama members testified on the Fast & Furious gun scandal. Obama administration officials say No, No, No only to have emails that show they lied. No wonder they have been illegally using personal email accounts. They want to hide the truth.

Delphi, a General Motors company, is one of the world’s largest automotive parts manufacturers. Twenty thousand of its workers lost nearly their entire pensions when the government bailed out GM. At the same time, Delphi employees who were members of the United Auto Workers union saw their pensions topped off and made whole.

These are Obama’s people and their agenda is his agenda…steal money from others.

From the LA Times:

Not long ago, Tyrone Freeman was a rising star in the national labor movement, already the head of California’s biggest union local and a force in Democratic politics from Los Angeles toWashington, D.C.

Freeman’s quick climb up the ranks of the powerful Service Employees International Union burnished his reputation as an advocate for the disadvantaged, a man who helped improve the lot of some 190,000 workers paid about $9 an hour to care for the infirm.

On Tuesday, though, Freeman was indicted on federal charges of stealing from those workers to enrich himself — even billing the union for costs from his Hawaiian wedding. The 15-count indictment, which also contains allegations that he violated tax laws and gave false information to a mortgage lender, carries combined maximum prison sentences of more than 200 years.

The charges resulted from a nearly four-year investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor, FBI and Internal Revenue Service that grew out of a series of Times reports on Freeman’s financial dealings as president of SEIU Local 6434. The ensuing scandal cost Freeman his job and spread through the SEIU, leading to the ouster of several other California officials as well as the president of the union’s biggest Michigan local.

Citing records and interviews, The Times reported that Freeman funneled hundreds of thousands of dollars of his union members’ hard-earned dues, and money from a related charity, to his relatives. He also spent lavish sums on a Four Seasons Resort golf tournament, expensive restaurants and a Beverly Hills cigar club.

Only worried about HIS job

The man is the most well documented liar in history. Obama doesn’t want to help fellow Democrats because he’s too busy raising every dime from weak-minded liberals he can.

From Yahoo:

President Barack Obama explained in a radio interview Monday why he didn’t do more to help Wisconsin Democrats in their battle to recall Republican Governor Scott Walker: He was too busy.

“The truth of the matter is that, as president of the United States, I’ve got a lot of responsibilities,” he told WBAY of Green Bay, Wisconsin. WBAY was one of eight TV stations given an exclusive interview with the president — six from battleground states Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Nevada, Virginia and Wisconsin and two from California and South Carolina.

He’s so busy that he’s only broken the record for fundraisers held by any other president but he’s never too busy to hob-knob with celebrities like George Clooney, Sarah Jessica Parker or his billionaire bundlers. Obama’s only busy when he knows Democrats are losing in the polls.

Obama said he was “supportive” of Walker’s Democratic challenger, Tom Barrett, whom Walker thumped in last week’s vote. ”Obviously, I would have loved to see a different result,” Obama told WBAY.

That’s Obama. Wisconsin was in so much debt due to these unionized state employees. Obama, like most Democrats, don’t care about following the laws that required states to balance their budgets.

And the president said he would be working to ensure a different result in November.

“We’re going to be fighting very hard in Wisconsin just like we have in the past,” said Obama, who carried the state by 14 points in 2008 but saw Barrett lose there by seven points.

Citizens United bad. Union goons buying elections good. So be it in Obama’s world. (Except now he’s for Citizens United)

From APNews, via TownHall:

Unions say they are gearing up to spend more than $400 million to help re-elect President Barack Obama and lift Democrats this election year in a fight for labor’s survival.

Under siege in state legislatures around the country _ and fearing the consequences of a Republican in the White House _ union leaders say they have little choice as they try to beat back GOP efforts to curb collective bargaining rights or limit their ability to collect dues.

“People are digging deeper,” said Larry Scanlon, political director of the country’s largest public workers union, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. “If Republicans take over the presidency, Congress and enough state legislatures, unions will be out of business, pure and simple.”

Scanlon’s union was the biggest overall spender in the 2010 midterm elections, doling out about $93 million to help state and federal candidates, mostly Democrats. This year, AFSCME is expected to spend at least $100 million or more on political action, including television advertising, phone banks and member canvassing. The effort is to help the president, Democrats running for the House and Senate, gubernatorial candidates and key state lawmakers.

With increased spending planned by other labor groups, including the powerful Service Employees International Union and the AFL-CIO, unions are likely to top the $400 million they spent to help elect Obama four years ago.

I thought Democrats didn’t believe a collective of people should be able to influence elections with all that untraceable money?

Not all union expenditures on political action are publicly disclosed, so some numbers are based on self-reporting. But unions have long been known as one of the most reliable supporters of Democratic candidates and their efforts have increased with every election as the threats to organized labor grow.
