Why don’t Democrats just extend them for Obama’s full term?
From The Hill:
House Democrats are beginning their push for an extension of expanded federal unemployment benefits before more than 2.1 million workers lose them at year’s end.
Ways and Means panel ranking member Sandy Levin (D-Mich.) and Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Texas) released a committee report on Monday arguing for quick action to extend benefits before they expire Dec. 29.
“We cannot forget the human cliff looming for more than two million Americans scheduled to lose their economic lifeline during the upcoming holidays,” Levin said.
But these are the same idiots who claim we are in a “recovery.”
“Failing to act would push millions of middle class Americans into poverty and impede our economic recovery.”
No recover and record poverty. The results of Obamanomics.
Without action, people who qualify for the federal benefits due to being unemployed for more than six months would stop receiving weekly checks at the end of December.
“While our primary concern remains growing more jobs, we should provide reasonable assistance to those actively seeking work, yet still unable to secure a job,” said Doggett, the top Democrat on the House subcommittee on Human Resources.
4 straight years of 8% plus unemployment under Obama and his party. Record long-term unemployment under this administration along with a 30-year low in labor force participation. This is the same party whose leader said unemployment benefits is the fastest way to create jobs and stimulate the economy.
The analysis released by Ways and Means found that about five million Americans have been out of work for six months or longer, with many ineligible for state or federal benefits.
This is what 4 years of Obamanomics brings you.
